Climategate e-mails sweep America, may scuttle Barack Obama's Cap and Trade laws
Telegraph Uk ^ | November 26th, 2009 | Gerald Warner

Posted on 11/26/2009 7:00:28 PM PST by opentalk

Just a few considerations in addition to previous remarks about the explosion of the East Anglia Climategate e-mails in America. The reaction is growing exponentially there. Fox News, Barack Obama’s Nemesis, is now on the case, trampling all over Al Gore’s organic vegetable patch and breaking the White House windows. It has extracted some of the juiciest quotes from the e-mails and displayed them on-screen, with commentaries. Joe Public, coast-to-coast, now knows, thanks to the clowns at East Anglia’s CRU, just how royally he has been screwed.

Senator James Inhofe’s Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has written to all the relevant US Government agencies, acquainting them with the nature of the e-mails. But the real car crash for Obama is on Capitol Hill where it is now confidently believed his Cap and Trade climate legislation is toast. It was always problematic; but with a growing awakening to the scale of the scientific imposture sweeping the world, as far as the Antipodes, the clever money is on Cap and Trade laws failing to pass, with many legislators sceptical and the mid-term elections looming ever closer.

At the more domestic level, the proposed ban on incandescent light bulbs, so supinely accepted in this servile state of Britain, is now provoking a huge backlash in America. US citizens do not like the government coming into their houses and putting their lights out. Voters may not understand the cut and thrust of climate debate at the technical level, but they know when the Man from Washington has crossed their threshold uninvited.

The term that Fox News is now applying to the Climategate e-mails is “game-changer”. For the first time, Anthropogenic Global Warming cranks are on the defensive, losing their cool and uttering desperate

I cannot BELIEVE that the Main Stream UK Press — and I do believe the Telegraph fits in that category — is so far out in front of the Lame Stream American Press on this issue.

I work in NYC, not far from Good Morning America studios. I’m tempted to go down there and yell at people going in and out: “Are there any JOURNALISTS left alive in this city? Why don’t you do your d- jobs?”

What killed it for me was the report from NASA a few years ago that Mars was warming. And Jupiter. And the moons of Saturn. And Pluto.

Same here...and the fact that the "consensus crowd" either dismissed or ignored evidence of sun activity and its effect on our climate was added verification for me.

On our way back down I got to wondering what caused the Fox Glacier to melt from 1750 to 1850 and beyond? It certainly wasn't my SUV. Could it be ........ THE SUN?????

Wow. The thing that strikes me is that, with clear evidence to back us up, how weird you feel when everyone in the world is saying the opposite.

I'm old, and in a way I don't care what people think, and I've been right many times when everyone else was wrong, as probably have most of us. But you still feel weird.

"Further down the line there may be, in many countries, a question of criminal prosecution of anybody who has falsified data to secure funds and impose potentially disastrous fiscal restraints on the world in deference to a massive hoax."

SirKit and I were wondering about that this morning, when he was telling me that the CRU wasn't actually hacked, but that someone on the inside had leaked these e-mails.

I think that the UK has already experienced loss of freedom and privacy based on the Green movement that they are more affected right now.

The second, it is all a ruse to get all of the money we have earned and saved and give it to their cronies. AlGore should be tarred and feathered.

I’d say it’s both. There stupid and don’t care. It’s all about money, power, pride and taking the easy, lazy, way out.

For most news about USA... I go to the GUARDIAN (UK), Telegraph(UK) or the CANADA FREE PRESS.

That always struck me as weird, looking through the looking glass weird, that they would stubbornly close their ears to any data about variations in solar energy which seemed to correlate too conveniently to be ignored, and yet they would ignore it and pour contempt on anyone who wanted to bring it into the discussion.

Ah, I’m savoring this...for so long we have been called “skeptics”, simply because we ask to see the facts. Over the last three months we have seen more and more evidence of skewed data (the doctoring of the so-called “hockey stick”, one explanation here: http://bishophill.squarespace.com/blog/2009/9/29/the-yamal-implosion.html) and now ClimateGate.
On the other hand, historical data shows that a warming period equals a time of great plenty, so I’m a little torn...

Some people, especially algore, need to be prosecuted for this fraud.
They put not just our and our children’s lives on the line for their money and power, they put the future of our nation at risk to line their pockets.

Like you said in your earlier Blog, when the Americans smell a rat, they deal with it. Us lot are Emus by comparison.

From the comments. Too bad we have to read about it in British and Australian newspapers, though, instead of our own.

One unintended consequence is the hacker aspect. They all want their fame.

That’s why they do it, hackers are a different sort than virus writers.

Virus writers are evil to the core while trying to get rich while hackers do it for the thrill and will take the money. In general anyway.

It would not be surprising if there is an *investigaton* by hackers on this topic.

The first person/entity that can do this will be Algore rich.

Got to love a free market.

This is not a redistribution of wealth issue.

Of course it is. Cap-and-Trade will cost the US trillions and the money will go to government and environ-mentalists. That is "redistribution" under law in case you missed the point. You work for the money, government takes it and passes it out to the politically deserving!!!!!!

And brokers. Especially the brokers. This is the redistribution they are talking about; from your pocket to theirs.
