July 8, two friends of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation and pro-liberty bloggers were arrested in Baku, Azerbaijan and held in custody on charges of hooliganism after they were beaten in a restaurant for exercising their rights to free speech. For more information visit Azadliqciragi.org

Wow, darkside321... ever hear of “inalienable rights”, “endowed by our creator”? I know this is a former Soviet Republic, but that ended 20 years ago. And as I said, this reflects something we should be thankful for. Just commenting here on FreeRepublic is a liberty few on this planet have.

Happy Thanksgiving!

of course i know “inalienable rights” and yes everybody should have it. but unfortunately in most places in this world nobody cares about “your” inalienable rights. this was all i wanted to say in my first post. and because i really do know nothing about this country (could have been an islamic country too for me because i really don´t know), there for “expressing your right to free speech” (which doesn´t exist for example in islamic countires) will do nothing then get you to jail. should it be this way? well definitely no. but then again this is the world we living.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too (even i´m not an american ;-)
greetings
