Love Sarah....Yes, She’s exciting, seems unusually honest but needs to slow down and practice not sounding like she babbles.
It is awfully early for these kinds of projections. If the media keep pushing the idea the economy is getting better, that could help the Dems, even if it’s not true. But in 1994 unemployment was coming down even as the Dems lost the House so you never know.
We need to be cautious but guys like Cook are good at noting trends and anticipating what is to come. So for him to see a Republican tide coming is a good thing. Larry Sabato and of course Michael Barone are the other ones to listen to. Right now it looks like ‘10 will be a good year but things can change, and these guys sometimes are wrong. As you say, keep up the pressure and we can help influence the outcome.
Yes it does look like the conservative movement is forming....maybe some good leaders will follow. HOPEFUL !
Keep sticking with Obama, democrats.
We really appreciate your loyalty (read:stupidity.)
“Frightened Democrats are scrambling to distance themselves from Barack Obama in desperate hopes theyll be spared in the coming political tsunami. “
Really??
But they’re voting for the healthcare takeover and cap and trade?
I’d be more excited, but I’ve lost faith in politicians, all of them. They’re simply whores.
The Firm Page & Rodgers :)
It's like the pick up line "Hi, you look like my next ex-girlfriend".
If you are an incumbant and you are trailing your challenger by 19 points a year before the next election, you are indeed trailing your successor. That is an unbelievable gap, particularly for an incumbant. (The reason being is that an incumbant is a known quantity (i.e. name recognition is pretty maxed out) and an incumbant can not gain a lot of ground. 19 points is a ton of ground to make up, and I don't know that any incumbant could do so.)
“Radio” and “Active” are words, but “Radioactive” is one word. :)
Anyone know what this guy’s track record is for predictions?
Even more appropriate.
Aw c'mon. Oppose Michelle Bachman???
I’ve got to come to the defense of several reps that have towed the Conservative line all the way.....coming to mind is Ted Poe, Mike McCaul, John Culberson and Kevin Brady (who voted for the first stimulus under the assumption that there would be oversight and got a reaming from us on that vote). There are more from other parts of the country but these are the one’s I’m familiar with since they serve from nearby districts.
I’d say, 700,000 books in the first week is outstanding and big pressure for the obeeeee message. She is going to be a king-maker. Love you Sarah.
He says Barack Obama will do so much damage to more than 40 Democrats he is Beyond Radio Active for them. .............................. Geee, maybe he can convince Palin to campaign for them? LOL LOl LOL
Heck I am way over here in Japan, but for you folks back in the USA, you must continue to talk Barack Hussein Obama DOWN at work, among neighbors and friends and family—in a truly people-to-people grassroots effort this Thanksgiving 2009 especially if you are getting on the road, or otherwise getting your extended families together.
Thanksgiving is a GREAT several days to do such a negative Obama campaign in millions upon millions of average living rooms, sitting in easy chairs, over beers and during commercials watching football and at dinner tables across the land. Doesn’t have to be overbearing or preachy. Can even be light hearted jokes, or referring to the humor on SNL last Saturday.
Just well-timed “plant-a-seed”-like statements such as “Sheesh, can you actually believe all that hype last year about Obama as a national savior, and then THIS”?! And then leave it at that. Relatives on the fence will come over. Others will perhaps return to their own neighborhoods to evangelize and pass it on.
We must somehow develop a national mentality in this regard about the White House and the loss of our freedoms.!!!
I don’t mean to suggest we should overly-politicize Thanksgiving in the sanctity of our own homes, but, our Republic needs us and think of all the people each of us can reach as one massive group of Americans over these holidays.
It is a way, the Japanese would say, to do “kuchikomi”, or “word of mouth” that if done in a massive enough way, can actually move polls several percentage points.
Start thinking about that Uncle Joe or Aunt Maria or Niece Lashonda, or your brother Rahul, or Grandpa Heinrich, or son Johnny in from Marine Corp basic, or whomever this next few Thanksgiving 2009 days that you want to get to as you sense they are fertile minds to come squarely over into the Reject Obamaism camp. Bringing just one of those people over will be reason to give “Thanks”.
If you have never done anything like this before, summon the courage and make a statement. You will be glad you did and chances are you will find people whom you otherwise did not think would agree, nodding their heads in disgust at what Obama is doing to our beloved Country.
Great post.
“A Man with a Plan.”
It’s the least we can all do, and easy to do. Needs to be done.
Hate to keep on agreeing all the time, but feel I must.
Wake up FReepers and lurkers, here’s your chance to do something each and every day; a small but very effective thing.
Thank you. Think we ought to spread it around FR as a general idea? I am sure others are already thinking of doing this, this year.
No kidding. I can imagine Steele, or Newt making the TV circuit saying, "This election isn't about President Obama, this is about getting our country back on track."
True. What I fear is a return to the Denny Hastert era, where the Republicans run on "The Democrats are even WORSE!" and run with the most liberal Pubbie they can find, then use their majority to slather pork onto their pet buddies. The banking regulations written by Phil Gramm did a lot to get us into this mess, although the Democrat spending has not helped.
A buddy of mine ran against Chet Edwards about ten years ago. He told me he was invited to a bunch of Republican fund raisers, although none of the raised money was sent to him, as the Republicans didn't think he had a chance of winning. He told me at the fund raisers, the contributors flatly told him "You're going to vote for 'this, this, this, and this.'" The legislation was always to funnel funds to their companies or provide them with an advantage over competitors. There was no discussion of political ideology or methods of governing. The contributors were buying votes for legislation that benefitted them.
One of the reasons so many corporations have started going Dem is they're easy to buy.
