No link for this as I just heard this being reported on FOX News. It appears that some liberal lawmakers, Charlie Rangel, David Obey and a couple of others may be proposing a "War Tax" on the wealthiest of Americans to pay for any upcoming troop surge in Afghanistan.
If there is such a thing as poetic justice...this is it. They would effectively be making all of the rich, anti-war Hollywood leftists pay for a war they have claimed to be against for the past 8 years.
Hope and Change!!

Update: Democratic Lawmakers Propose "War Tax," White House Mum
Charlie Rangle proposing a new tax... LOL... That is just too damn funny.....
Here's an example: Originally he public didn't want casino gambling in Canada's province of Nova Scotia. The government convinced everyone that it was going to bring in millions of tax revenue and would be good for the province. When the casinos came in, did the taxes go down? Nah.
Democrats are to be exempt from this.
Get it from Oprah’s “stash” :)
Obama's Tax
to pay for Obama's lavish stupidityThere’s a new narrative developing on the left that wars have stopped great “progressive” (i.e. socialist) movements. They are scared to death that Afghanistan could unravel their sweeping domestic socialist agenda.
How about a moron tax on congress instead.
Stock tax! you didn’t need your investments anyway

Here’s my version of a war tax:
Forcibly induct every Congressman and woman into the military, put them through training, give them a weapon, and send them to a few units on the front lines in Afghanistan.
Here's an idea; tax the unions, tax the AARP, make ACORN pay the taxes they really owe. Want more?
“They should just tax liberals. Its Obamas war now...”
Ditto!
No, not anything not on cent more.
The income tax IS a war tax it was instituted for ww1.
This may sound dumb, but don’t we already pay taxes to support the common defense?
War Bonds are a tax....who do you think pays back the prinicple and interest when they reach maturity.....you and I.
One of the few things the federal government IS tasked with, and it has no money to fulfill it’s obligation.
So goes it in 2009.
I already pay for the troops via taxes.
Close down the “entitlements” and pay a higher military bill.
Raising and keeping a military is actually one of the few things mandated to the federal gov’t by the Constitution.
...some liberal lawmakers, Charlie Rangel, David Obey and a couple of others may be proposing a "War Tax" on the wealthiest of Americans to pay for any upcoming troop surge in Afghanistan. So, how much income did Charlie hide from the IRS?
Speaking of lavish stupidity, did you see what went on at the white house tonight?
