"The Myth's About Thanksgiving"

My attempt to squash your romantic view of Thanksgiving! Mayflower Myths:The reason that we have so many myths associated with Thanksgiving is that it is an invented tradition. It doesn’t originate in any one event. It is based on the New England puritan Thanksgiving, which is a religious Thanksgiving, and the traditional harvest celebrations of England and New England and maybe other ideas like commemorating the pilgrims. All of these have been gathered together and transformed into something different from the original parts. James W. Baker Senior Historian at Plymouth Plantation.

"My attempt to squash your romantic view of Thanksgiving!"

Well you're a little late! My Thanksgiving and millions of other's Thanksgiving will be a whole lot less thankful this year thanks to our American Terrorists! AKA The lowlife Democrats who voted for the government run health care.

“The history of the Pilgrims and their Indian friends is meticulously well-documented.”

True but the story that goes around now totally leaves out the fact that the Pilgrims weren’t here first. That goes to the settlers of Jamestown in 1607.

"The Myth's About Thanksgiving"

When you use an apostrophy in this way, you are telling the reader that the myth possesses something. I don't know what the myth possesses, but you are telling me you intend to crush it! You're nothing but a big bully!

Well, finally someone who knows the difference between Pilgrims and Puritans. The Pilgrims were called that because they set sail on a pilgrimage. They called themselves Separatists, though, when they were in England and Holland. You are right that it is well documented. Gov. Bradford wrote a history of the “Plimoth Plantation”, remember?
(By the way, he was my eighth great grandfather)

Well, of course, we all know that Jamestown was the first settlement, but did you know that one of the Pilgrims, Stephen Hopkins, went on a voyage to Jamestown in l609? Besides, the French fur traders were already here when the Pilgrims got here, as were the Spanish is Florida and California. And how about all the fishing boats who came to America every spring? And how about Squanto, the Indian who greeted the Pilgrims with a “hello” in English? How did he learn English? This wasn’t a never-explored country, is what I’m saying.

The article -and the little comments- were fun to read.

Ignore the spelling/grammar/punctuation nazis and have a great Thanksgiving!

"Uneducated journalisits don’t even seem to have a fifth graders grasp of grammar and spelling rules!"

I think you meant "fifth-grader's," where the apostrophe you should have used (but did not) would have denoted the possessive, as in the "grasp" belonging to the "fifth-grader." Apparently even the haughty who enjoy looking down their noses at others are capable of punctuating like a below-average public-schooled chimp.

Bone brain.
