Did anyone else catch this? Just now on C-SPAN, Harry Reid quotes communist Andrei Sakharov in closing statement of Senate debate on socialist health care.

OK granted, Sakharov was not a ranting Leninist but why wouldn't Harry quote a founder or an American patriot to make his simplistic, sophomoric point. O wait, Harry IS a ranting Leninist...

I don't know whether Sakharov was ever a member of the Communist Party.
I do know he ranks with Solzhenitsyn, Thatcher, Walesa, JPII and Reagan among those who helped bring down the USSR, the greatest achievement of the second half of the 20th century.
He was persecuted for his stand by the KGB and I personally would be honored to quote him.

I want to know what Blanche Lincoln got out of this from the little punk after Mary Landrieu got $100 MILLION! NOTHING is going to help Blanche once she comes 'home' (she lives in VA with her doctor husband & twin boys who are smarter than any Arkansan - just ask them).
I just made a quick search for Harry’s poll numbers; last ones I heard had him trailing badly. Our hope is to retire him and the other socialists running for office next year. Of course, in the meantime, he and his accomplices can do a lot of damage to this country.
Andrei Sakharov should be spinning in his grave to think his words were spoken by a scumbag like Reid!
