C-SPAN 2 is carrying the Senate floor debate live this afternoon.
The Democrats control the floor right now. Earlier, Republican Senators Judd Gregg, Kit Bond, Jeff Sessions and David Vitter gave good speeches and dialogues on the budget-busting effects of ObamaCare.
Maria Cantwell is speaking now. Mary Landrieu is excpected to speak shortly.
The cloture vote is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST tonight.

There is nothing remotely good about any of this. There's nothing compassionate about any of this. Just before they detonate their political bombs -- which is what their votes against the wishes of the people they serve are -- they may as well shout "Death to freedom!" They may as well shout "Death to freedom!" as they cast their vote....
If we are going to be taxed “to death” for the first 4 yearss without ANY beneifts until the 5th year what is to keep us from voting the traitors out?

Agree - sounds good! I’m off in a few minutes to attend MillionMedMarch — doctors against this scourage known as Obamacare.
Here in L.A. it will be at Federal Building Westwood at noon until about 2 — 11000 Wilshire Blvd - east of 405 freeway.
Check their website for other locations around the country.
A few more ‘marches’ can’t hurt as we undoubtedly must look forward to the biggest ‘march’ of all — the ‘millions of citizens’ march on DC when this commie takeover horror passes. It’s not about healthcare, it’s about CONTROL.
So if the Repubs hold together it is 40 votes plus Lieberman would make it 41. I cannot imagine the insurance companies in CT would be for this.

You got that right — after the doctors march against this scourage at L.A.’s federal building at noon today, I am grabbing up more ammo as I really believe we may well need it.
I hope there are stats on how much is sold on a day like today with the vote and all — every time WE are screwed over, we retaliate by further arming ourselves. That story would make great headlines!

If so, is it the 2nd vote to end debate where Lieberman will make his stand and filibuster with us?
I'm afraid that you are correct with this.
If I hear "it's DOA" just one more time....
tis my understanding, limited as it may be.
They need another 60 votes to stop the debate after amendments are purposed which is true cloture .
Lieberman has stated he will filibuster the bill if the public option is still included in the bill.
