Breitbart to AG Holder: Investigate ACORN or We’ll Release More Tapes Just Before 2010 Election

Posted By Publius On November 20, 2009 @ 1:36 am In ACORN | 99 Comments

Earlier tonight Andrew Breitbart, James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles discussed the final chapter of the ACORN L.A. saga [1] on “Hannity,” but more interestingly, Breitbart disclosed where the story goes from here. Transcript (below) starts from 3:50 into the clip:

Breitbart: There’s a lot of hypocrisy and the dust has settled for ACORN and at the end of the day they’ve recognized that Eric Holder, the Attorney General, has not initiated an investigation into ACORN after we now have seven tapes. There were five initially that came out, ACORN was defunded by the Senate, was defunded by the House, lost it’s link to the Census; while all that damage occurred, Congress didn’t come in to investigate them, obviously not the Attorney General’s office, and they’ve now realized let’s get back into business because they realized that the dust settled and they were not being investigated, it was Hannah, James, and me who were being investigated, that’s why we’ve been forced to offer this latest tape.

Hannity: Are you saying, Andrew, that there are more tapes?

Breitbart: Oh my goodness there are!

I would be very surprised if there weren’t multiple copies in the hands of trusted people.

Holder could start an investigation and subpoena the tapes, put Breitbart on a court ordered non-disclosure as this is an ongoing investigation, then stonewall until after the election, essentially hiding all the tapes.

Oh, Murdoch has subsidiaries all over the world. Do you think the Daily Mail or Sky would pay much attention to a non-disclosure order? For all we know, backups are sitting in manila envelopes or on ftp servers in all sorts of unreachable places.

Regading those who believe that a Dem investigation will be phony and backfire. Well, you play the cards you are dealt. The more people involved, even Dems, the greater thee odds of uncovering more evidence of wrong-doing and spreading Acorns clandestine ways far and wide.

Holder will probably investigate Breitbart for extortion...

Breitbart to Holder: Investigate ACORN or we’ll release more tapes before 2010.
Holder to Breitbart: I will not be intimidated!
Just like I won’t back down over having
the KSM trial in New York City!
——I love this, it’s a classic poker strategy.
Who knows what hand Breitbart actually holds?
Who knows if there’s anything he’s got from James and
Hannah that’s appreciably more damaging than what’s
already come out?
Having said that, this is EXACTLY the way the political power
game should be played, and Breitbart seems to know
that instinctively.

Sounds like blackmail to me. I'm not pleassed to hear this.

Hardball political negotiation is sometimes indistinguishable from "blackmail."

Playing your cards without getting their full negotiating value out of them is the sign of amateurs and losers.

This is war. Real war. Just short of a shooting war. This is important to remember.

The goal? We win, they lose.

****After Holder’s incoherant testimony about the ksm trial...***

Since Acorn is a domestic terrorist group - Holder will probably recommend they be sent to GITMO...where the Cuban Marxist government will send in troops to liberate them...

We are living in a Hollyweird World!!!!!

"Sounds like blackmail to me. I'm not pleassed to hear this."

Blackmail is a clandestine attempt to extort money or favors.

(And is against the law.)

Publicly telling someone you are going to do something if they don't do their job isn't illegal.

Oh let’s just go ahead and release the tapes in 2010 even if Holder ‘investigates’ ACORN. Just for giggles....that’s my vote.

It would be interesting to see if this is different from the James and Hannah tapes? Who knows, maybe voter registration issues? Maybe poll workers? Maybe congressional and/or campaign kickbacks?

Thank you for posting the picture.

This is good news, bad news, ... glad there are more videos, and bad news that it has been announced.

These are tough groups that think nothing of thuggery or worse. Give them time until the election swings into gear, and by then they can have entered his home or office or other safe places, and dug around and find them. Or burn his home down. Accidentally happening in some way. Or car wreck. Nothing is beyond the groups noted.

God protect Breitbart and his family and loved ones, bless America, and bring to light the evil plans being brought against America. Help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

We are talking about trillions of dollars that have been and are being funneled through these organizations for the purpose of changing America forever. In a totalitarian way.

AG Holder obviously is not concerned about justice and would not hesitate to use the full power of his office to seize the remaining videos pending “a full investigation” into the potential violation of ACORN worker’s rights.

He'd be fighting a losing battle and probably make an even bigger fool of himself. Copies of those tapes could now be in the possession of several trusted individuals or news agencies. If he tried what you say, a copy could show up at any news agency and no one would ever be able to find out where the copy came from. Anonymous mail, or email, or UPS or FedEx, etc. And the news agency would not reveal sources.

Now there will be lawsuits to stop the release of any more tapes. I hope that he deposited copies with an independent source who has previous instructions on when to release more tapes.

Not blackmail. The facts. Mr. Holder should be filing a RICO case against ACORN. It’s called ‘justice’.

Fox might not be thinking properly —when they dress those kids up in country club finery, it permits the left ammunition to marginalize their impact.

They look professional, sure, and in most cases that’s nice. But it makes them look like they’re part of the tasseled penny-loafter set from some posh country-club.

That’s stupid..!

When Rush first started his show they wanted him to play classical music —I mean conservative stuff should BE UPTIGHT AND ELITIST RIGHT...?

Uh....NO!

So think of putting them in skater or urban stuff. We need to put lots of space between them and anythink that smacks of elitism.

Fox is taking the safe, quick road, but it prolly lead to a cliff. Hannah looks OK but they dressed James up in the worst crap possible. A blue blazer & red power tie, Jesus Christ..!

STILL A GOOD CLIP, THOUGH...

Breitbart could easily circumvent that , making the release of the tapes conditional on full disclosure of their contents long before the election cycle gets underway.|
I am sure he’s at least THAT smart. If he’s got something, REALLY got something, beyond the stuff we’ve already seen
then he could continue to challenge Holder to reveal the tapes, very vocally and publicly. Even the MSM would likely get in on this. It could become a real news story, where there’s a direct challenge to this Admin. coming directly and personally from someon OUTSIDE Congress, someone who doesn’t have an Establishment political career to protect.

Its not blackmail. Blackmail is done behind closed doors and never to advance the cause of good.

In a way it reminds me of the story Rupert Murdoch told about his father reporting during WWI.

Generals sat on ships off the coast having tea as they sent wave after wave of men to their deaths at Galipoli (I believe it was). Murdoch wrote his story and went directly to the leadership and showed them the story that he was going to run. He offered them a deal where if they fixed the situation he would hold off on giving the story to the papers till after the war was over.
