Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ saved these two Iranian Christian converts from Islam, Maryam Rostampour and Marzieh Amirizadeh Esmaeilabad, from execution and secured their release from Evin prison after 9 months of failure to reconvert them to the darkness of Islam.

Thread BUMP.
All praise to our Lord God Almighty!
Two things come to mind.
These two women were converts from Islam, an action which earns the extreme ire of the Iranian religious leaders. Had they been born into Christian or Zoroastrian families, they may not have been persecuted in the same way.
The Baha'is in Iran are persecuted in a far more severe manner. Even those who come from families which have been Baha'i for a hundred years or more. See the following: Iran Press Watch
I’d say this is done with mirrors, a token release, perhaps.
Under IRI’s current “religious” laws (apostasy included) converting out of Islam for an Iranian born muslim to another religion can be often punishable by death. However, IRI is more political than religious.
Your points about born into Christian or Zoroastrian families, as well as the treatment of the Baha’is in Iran are very valid.
Thank you Lord!
This release, though very welcome, is a naked PR gesture on the part of the IRI. They know their image outside Iran is very bad. This event is calculated to take heat of the régime and buy time to close what gates are still open to freedom. The brutal rapists and sadistic butchers who “guard” the prisoners in Evin and other prisons inside Iran are still up to their same old tricks. What happens inside Iran’s prisons makes those in other countries look like palaces by comparison. The crimes committed by the rulers of Iran and their minions against the people of Iran are systematically being exposed despite repeated efforts to control the flow of information out of and into the country. But the world has yet to respond to these revelations. Remember Darfur? How much longer beyond the 30 years already past will the world stand by and silently allow Persia’s intelligent, gifted and passionate people to be slaughtered?????
Truth forever on the scaffold,
Wrong forever on the throne,
But the scaffold sways the future
And behind the dim unknown
Standeth God within the shadows,
Keeping watch, keeping watch above His own”

Unfortunately, all of the countries that could do something are run by leftists who are unwilling to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries - except for Honduras.
Are we all tipy-toeing around the fact that they did not spend a quiet nine months in Evin? that they have been raped, gang raped, trotured to make them convert back to Islam?
Am I being too cnical to think they are so badly battered that their release MIGHT be to avoid either of them or both dying in prison, wheras now their death announcement (God forbid) can be censored and not appear?
While they and their families are inside Islamic Iran, their silence is almost certain, so their release is a blessing for them but until we know what their phsysical status is, it may not be anything more thatn the regime hiding what was done to them.
And Obama could not care less and contiues to want tea and chat with these regime of monsters as if they were acceptable people.

Sorry about the typos. While happy on one side, the other side of the reality coin really upset me about these two innocents.
Not cynical enough, if you're anything.
First thing I'd thought was if they're being released, in how many pieces.
Aside from that little detail though, I seriously don't think these thugs care what happens to them there or elsewhere, nor do they care what any one thinks of them.
Thanks FARS.
Thanks for the ping!
I did not mean any Freepers but the LameStream Media

The world’s elitists - want a world safe for the production and selling of goods...including humans.
Why would anyone care a whit about these 2 young women? They are simply expendible cogs...to be exploited and thrown away. I know of only one organization - who even publicised their detention - Voice of the Martyrs. I know of not one mainline religions secular human rights group, ad nauseum - who publicly said a word about them.
While Iran releases these two brave survivors the beastly UK is about to deport an Iranian Christian back to Iran!
