TAMPA - Business owners in Florida are about to get hit with a big tax hike: starting January 1st, all Florida businesses will have to pay skyrocketing unemployment compensation taxes to replenish the unemployment compensation trust fund.

It’s already dead here. Sundays in DT L.A. is a ghost town. Went to Carl’s Jr and there were 3 customers, including myself at 2 pm. And this was the financial district..

The article gives no hint of how expensive this really is. $100 for a year for a full time minimum wage employee is under 1%, so I doubt it is a per year rate.
