Schools let students seek secret abortions
WND via The Woodward Report ^ | November 18, 2009 | Chelsea Schilling

A 12-year-old girl is prohibited from bringing aspirin to California public schools without a note from her mother or father – but in many California districts she may sign herself out of classes, leave her junior-high campus without parental permission, secretly have an abortion and return to school before the end of the day – and her own family may be none the wiser.

Parents and educators across the state have been in heated debate over school policies allowing children to be excused during class time without parental notification for "confidential medical services" such as abortions, birth control, and drug and mental health services.

Brad Dacus, founder and president of Pacific Justice Institute, a legal nonprofit, addressed the board at a school-district meeting in Carmichael on Nov. 17 to discuss the policy, along with hundreds of concerned parents who flooded into the meeting and filled the district building lobby.

After much debate and input from the public, the San Juan Unified School District voted 3 to 2 against the policy change. Parents clapped and cheered when they heard the decision.

"We are pleased that the San Juan school board listened to the community and abandoned this disastrous proposal," Dacus said in a statement. "This is a victory for everyone who believes in parental responsibility and local control of school decisions."

Very sad—especially considering the numerous health risks from abortion to the mother (not even including death to the unborn grandchild of these parents).

This has to be against law.

Is anyone surprised, given everything else at today’s public schools? Glad I kept my kids clear of that garbage.

Just more obvious (to those who care) evidence that the whole abortion game is not about the children. Kids get suspended or more for bringing tylenol/ibuprophen/aspirin to school for legitimate purposes because they didn’t do it with written permission from parents, then keep it in the office so the school has the “power” to dispense it...

And when I was teaching, I couldn’t give a kid any form of ANY medications at all unless I wanted to be terminated...

Yet not only can children check themselves out for an abortion, but some schools actually will provide transportation... All without any parental notification, much less permission.

You betcha". Same here.
Parents have no idea what the radicals in the government run public schools are subjecting their kids to. If they only knew!

Since it’s obvious that these kids are going to have sex, maybe more emphasis should be put on birth control?

...and when you bring it up, they get defensive. I lost a lot of potential friends at work when I hit on that subject. I had no clue that talking about my kids made them feel like lousy parents. Oh well.

they had to pass a law against it during the Bush Administration. Some activist school officials in Pennsylvania were secretly driving girls to New York State for abortions to get around PA’s parental consent law.

(unless the Obama Dems undid this while we weren’t looking)

Birth control doesn't make campaign money. It's the abortions that bring in the cash. They WANT these kids knocked up. No dead infants, no political contributions.

Why is this news?

This has been going on for years. Parents and teachers who participate in the perverse public school system kind of ignore the fact that the government owns their kids while they are there. And that the government can permit anything to happen.

There has been no protests in the streets, no dramatic court challenges, no problems from the people who supposedly want the government out of their business.

It is a non issue and the sheep must obey.

I knew before I even read the article that Planned Parenthood would be involved. After-all, they just happen to operate the biggest chain of abortion mills in the country. And they do it all with millions and millions of our tax dollars. They have routinely fought against parents even being notified, let alone granting permission for medical treatment when it comes to Planned Parenthood's dispensing of birth control and provision of abortion.

They'd rather have the school raise their kids for them. That way, they're not held responsible for anything, and someone else does all the work. They'd never admit it, though.

We home schooled. Our oldest is on the honor society at college. The next in line hasn't gotten on the list yet, but he's still trying. He's only in his second semester. Both are great kids.
Their old friends from the public schools are dropping like flies (I stopped my kids from hanging around with them when they hit Jr. High). Two girls got knocked up and are now living off the public teat. One boy is serving 1.5 years in prison. Another just sits and home and does nothing. He'll never go anywhere. These kids were fine when they were little, but as they grew older, they had no parents around to guide them. The school did it instead. Hillary's village did a terrible disservice on these kids.
When I see these parents in store, and they ask how my kids are doing - I tell them! I flaunt it. They thought I was off my rocker for not letting them attend a public school. NOW they get it, but it's too late for their kids.

My husbands boss was going to put his kids in the local public school rather than home school. My husband pointed to the welfare housing unit across the street from his office, and mentioned to his boss that those kids are going to be his kids classmates! The boss had never thought about that. My husbands boss put his kids in a private Christian school instead. Smart move.

I’m sure that the school will take full responsibility if she’s injured on the way to the abortion facility or has complications from the procedure.....yeah right. Liberals make me sick.

Is this the wonderful “socialization” homeschoolers are missing? ( Just wondering.)
