Sorry if this is considered to be a "duplicate post", but this is outrageous enough to have its own thread.
The AP article at myway.com is titled "Thousands cheer Palin in Mich. for book tour".
Essentially the same AP article is hosted at google news with the headline "Hundreds cheer Palin in Mich. for book tour".
Screen shots to preserve it in case it gets mysteriously "corrected":
(Excerpt) Read more at google.com ...
Was the headline changed at the source? Most of these things are generated by automatic feeds, no person actually programs them in, they appear on Google and their news threads based on what is fed to them and link popularity. IF this article was never posted as ‘hundreds’ then it may be interesting to check, however, if it was first posted as hundreds when it hit the wire, the modified by editors to ‘thousands’ (just like you can change a blog post), there isn’t anything here.. Needs more research before knee jerking..
I think things have changed. I think it is blatently obvious the MSM have a bone to pick with Palin and go out of their way to try to taint and smear her. But this go round... the media will lose their battle because they are no longer trusted. The gig is up. People don’t watch or read their garbage.

Google were huge contributors to Obama’s campaign. Not a surprise they would mess around with the headline. Over 10,000 came to see Sarah actually
Believe it or not there is more than one headline editor in the world of journalism.
When is someone going to sue GOOGLE? They have a virtual monopoly on the internet and are using that monopoly of information in a deceptive way. Same goes for the MSM>
Deceptive trade practices?
Good catch.
It could be, but I haven’t located sources other than google for the ‘hundreds’ title...
See post #9, at least one source posted it as “hundreds”..
Thanks.. fight the battles where it is important, don’t see conspiracy where there is none..
This one is particularly interesting, though, both because the 'hundreds' title clearly conflicts with the copy in the article that states, "A line of more than a thousand people...", but also because of the not-so-subtle smear campaign that "journalists" have been waging in the press since Palin was announced as McCain's running mate.

I guess that my “google-fu” needs a tune-up...
The MSM can try to downplay Palin’s popularity, but crowds of thousands are composed of individuals, each of whom is moved by Palin’s message and her charisma. No doubt everyone who loves Palin also despises the MSM, so their propaganda will be more likely to have an inverse effect on their opinion.
No surprise. Google Sarah Palin last fall, 28 plus million hits, two months ago 16.5 million, tonight it is 7.5 million.
BUMP for excellence in freeping.
“When is someone going to sue GOOGLE? They have a virtual monopoly on the internet and are using that monopoly of information in a deceptive way.”
There are still better than a dozen search engines on the net. Unfortunately Google does what they do very well and their name is no different than Xerox’s was for photo copying or Polaroid’s was for instant photography.
It’s next to impossible to overcome a technology/function that is synonymous for your brand name until something comes along and makes Google obsolete.
Trust me, it can happen. Go back and watch science fiction movies from the 60’s-80’s when you see companies like the Bell System, Eastern Airlines, Pan Am and numerous others projected to exist in a futuristic sense after the year 2000.
Something will come along and unseat Google. The initial founders are billionares several times over but when they stop making millionares of new employees is when talent flees for start ups. Then something else will beat them.
However you are correct. They are in a near monopoly on search and they have the ability to filter searches in truly disturbing ways that would make the MSM green with envy.
Just as I don’t go to MSNBC for my News, I don’t go to Google for my web brousing. BING.com is ny choice
