Obama says it: There's a chance he won't run in 2012

In an interview with CNN in China, President Obama opened the possibility to not running for re-election in 2012 -- something that no president has done since Lyndon Johnson.

Here's what he said:

"You know, if - if I feel like I've made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we've gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I'm in a tough spot, I'll - I'll feel all right about myself," Obama told CNN's Ed Henry.

"I said to myself very early on, even when I started running for office, I don't want to be making decisions based on getting re-elected, because I think the challenges that America faces right now are so significant," the president also said.

We must never forget that if a Leftist, a Socialist, Democrat’s lips are moving, he/she is lying.

No more presidents from Harvard. They know nothing about history, economics and are taught no logical thinking skills.

A few others on this thread think the same thing I do. It is about the birth certificate. If BO’s numbers are still in the tank and unemployment is still high the people will demand it. The press is slowly starting to question BO. No free pass on the birth certificate issue next time unless BO is riding high. FAT CHANCE.

Make that: We must never forget that if a Leftist, a Socialist, Democrat’s lips are moving, he/she/IT is lying.

Frankly, I’m thinkin’ there are a HELL of a lot of Democrat voters who don’t want him anymore.

NOT that they’ve been convinced to join us—but they certainly aren’t happy with Hussein.

A grand opportunity.

Yeah, right. Just like the Hildebeest wasn’t going to run in 08 because she had an obligation to her constituents as a senator.

It’s because he’ll stage a coup before then.

Alinsky does not teach how to have a successful coup. Democratically elected leaders who want to stage a coup make sure they have absolute control over the military first. Our President has not done a whole lot to ingratiate himself with the armed forces.

“That’s not the way I read the excerpt. It says he doesn’t care about the polls, not that he won’t run.

I concur the reporter read between the lines a bit, but notice this:

“You know, if - if I feel like I’ve made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we’ve gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I’m in a tough spot, I’ll - I’ll feel all right about myself,”

He’s already preemptively considering the possibility his poll numbers will be in the tank (shades of GWB). He even acknowledges he could be in a tough spot (as opposed to assuming he’d be a shoo-in for re-election). BUT notice also that he attributes such a dismal situation to Americans having gone through “wrenching changes” (shades of FDR), NOT because he in any way screwed up or caused things to get worse. Quite the contrary, he claims he’ll feel good about himself.

In short, he’s already mentally prepared himself for the possibility he could get voted out of office, but he’s not going to chalk that up to failure on his part. Instead (implicitly) it will be because the stupid impatient voters who don’t understand all the great stuff he’s accomplished weren’t willing to wait to see how things turned out once his wonderful policies (such as Obamacare) were fully in place.

I concur he doesn’t care about the polls, as he arrogantly believes he knows what’s best for America and if we don’t appreciate him, that’s OUR loss! This is precisely the attitude that has lead him to have such a tin ear when it comes to health care, cap and trade, higher deficits and higher taxes. I cannot wait for him to get his comeuppance in 2012.

November 8, 2004:
“You know, I am a believer in knowing what you’re doing when you apply for a job. And I think that if I were to seriously consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now, before having served a day in the Senate. Now, there are some people who might be comfortable doing that, but I’m not one of those people.” - 0bama

And we all know how that turned out, don’t we?

Dont worry about it he also said he wouldnt run this time.

The man is a known purveyor of untruths.

The good thing about 2012 is that he can run, bit it;s going to be a whole lot harder to hide.

Hide his Birth Certificate, His college records, His Social Security cards, His passport, His sorry record as President.
By 2012 even the dead Democrats should have enough of the Kenyan.

This could be bad. If he does not care about re-election, no telling what he is going to do

Well, he better start "doing " it now, because after 2010 he's going to be staring at a Republican Congress, pretty much.

I've been telling my hubby that zero wasn't going to run again & that's why he is doing what he's doing. He knows he can't get reelected, so why not run the country into the ground. He's got nothing to lose as far as he's concerned. My hubby's convinced he won't run because zero plans on staying in office forever.
