The "pink slips" being sent to members of Congress, warning them to abandon Washington's "charge-it-and-spend-it" programs, new energy taxes under "cap-and-trade" and nationalized health care have surged past five million, but supporters of the program say they need to keep coming.
Janet Porter, founder and president of Faith2Action, is one of the organizers behind the "pink slips" campaign and was at a news conference today in Washington where U.S. Reps Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn.; Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; Steve King, R-Iowa, and Trent Franks, R-Ariz., spoke in approval of the effort.
She said it's clear the message delivered through a stack of "pink slips" now standing approximately five feet high in congressional offices is getting through
"They are hearing us, even those who don't want to hear. They're still listening," she told WND. "Those who are on the fence, this may give them the courage to stand up to the arm-twisting."
"It's an amazing feat, to get that many slips to Congress," King told WND. "If you look through them, you can index each one back to an individual.
"That's powerful. There is a person behind each one of the slips," he said.
The number of "pink slips" is staggering because these weren't people who were answering a telephone poll and participating in a survey, he noted.

I attended the Health Care Tea Party two weeks ago in D.C. This is first time I’m hearing about sending “pink slips” to D.C.
The new Majority rises. Later for the Socialists who can no longer deliver the freebies. The dissallusiond taxtakers are in for a rude awakening. THEY MIGHT HAVE TO WORK!
The members of Congress (who are really conservative) are BEGGING for more of these to be sent, so that they can waive them around and grab some of the ‘in the middle’ members to vote their way.
first i have heard of this. i think it is brilliant. wait for the envirowacko wailing about killing trees to begin soon.
If they are so worried about killing trees, maybe they should contact their liberal congressperson, and harangue them to lay off writing 2000 page health and climate bills that end up being printed out countless times!
Thanks for reminding me to do this - anything that will get their attention!
I received an e-mail about this about two weeks ago and simply forgot to send mine. Took care of it today. If you click on the article link you will see a link in the article on how to do this, and you can do so through WND or another organization (also mentioned in the article). Several are doing it. I think it’s a great idea!
ATTENTION, WND......
