States in New England top a new set of rankings, while the South still lags.
If you want to be healthy, live in Vermont--or at least act like you do. It is the healthiest state in the country, according to a new report from the nonprofit United Health Foundation.

Probably just meth addicts.........
You aren't supposed to digest them numb ner's like that dude!!
I used to live 15 minutes by bus (86th Avenue to Cropsey to Stillwell) to Coney Island. Loved to get my dogs and soggy fries at Nathan’s, followed by a beer at Ruby’s as I looked out at the water (and some scary old Russian guys in speedos).
lol!
Right?
If we got rid of the illegals flooding the emergancy rooms California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas would move up the list considerably!!!
Ain't that the truth. If they do that, maybe Texas will get to 20. If they send the Katrinamals back to LA, maybe they can get to 10th.
Can’t stand New England!
The most ignorant and arrogant people on Earth.
The south has the prettiest girls anyway! :o)
I believe at least 40-50% percent of southern black females are today morbidly obese.
I don’t think whites in Mississippi are as fat as lower class whites in Tennessee are.
Folks living at higher altitude have an advantage on this.
When I lived in Bogota ...for 7 months once only going lower to go to Muzo or Villvicencio, I lost tons of weight from higher metabolic rate to compensate for lack of O2....around 180..and I’m 6/5...now...230 on a diet..lol
I bet Leadville has few fatties.
There are lots of healthy people in Mississippi, and I daresay quite a few unhealthy ones in Vermont. Vermont is a lovely state, in the Fall, but I have no desire to live there, it's too dang COLD, much of the time!
LOL! Indeed!
Southern Miss ‘74!
*drool* I have a can of crabmeat in the fridge and some sweet potatoes in the pantry. I just might have to try that recipe this weekend!
We've been here almost 22 YEARS! Can't wait to head back to Mississippi!
Taste of Texas. Great place in west Houston.
But they only give you the steak at no charge if you eat the whole thing right there.
You got that right! :-D
And we have sooooo much more fun than they do.
My Mississippi family:
Dad died at 89.
Grandmother passed at 96.
Other grandmother at 88.
Aunt living, next birthday she’ll be 96.
All of them rarely saw a doctor, including the aunt. She goes maybe once a year to hers.
And all of them loved fried chicken.
why in the world would California be at the bottom? don't you realize how great the weather is here? we can be outdoors bike riding, skiing, hiking, swimming, running, walking, playing all kinds of sports... growing our own vegetables and fruit... eating fish... heck, we can go fishing in the ocean or in the lakes up in the mountains... which we do... and in many places in California, people care how they look--ergo, eat less, burn more calories... i would imagine that we also have a plethora of good doctors... since many doctors make good money, they can afford to live in California... we also offer much in the way of culture... being that i am in the central valley, i can go see a play just 45 minutes from where i live in any direction... Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco...
