Orly Taitz is refusing to pay a $20,000 sanction issued by Judge Clay Land, who is also presiding over the Mark Shelnutt trial.
Taitz is the California attorney who filed a motion for Capt. Connie Rhodes. Rhodes attempted to halt her Iraq deployment on the grounds that President Obamas holding office was not legitimate.
Taitz told News 3 that she believes the sanctions were asserted in an attempt to silence her challenge of Obamas legitimacy.
I really havent done anything that would justify the sanction. If anything it is the opposite. The sanction was not justified. It was a political move. It is an extremely dangerous precedent to set.
Taitz has retained counsel for her appeal.
Please disregard Post 80.
It's geared toward Non-Sequitur and MLO.
Glad to see that you find Obama's behavior suspicious as well.
Consider:
This wouldn't matter to those who hold that a Natural Born Citizen must have two citizen parents. Those challenges would continue.
This wouldn't matter to those who hold that a President cannot have ever held any type of dual-citizenship or rights to a citizenship other than American citizenship. Those challenges would continue.
This wouldn't matter to those who have already decided that he was born outside the US. No amount of evidence will convince them. It will would be denounced as a forgery and added to his list of crimes. Those challenges would continue.
The number of people who would have their opinion changed regarding his place of birth is pretty minimal. And of those, how many you think would support him or vote for him?
So... What motivation is there for BHO to really do anything about it?
Why should he make any effort to keep his opponents from acting goofy? Mind you, this is not asking what the correct or moral decision is. But what's in it for him? Why should he feel, from his point of view, any motivation to do anything about it?
You might have noticed that he's been President for almost a year or 1/4 of his term. Unless this becomes an election issue in 2012 or Congress changes hands and the issue gets investigated, he probably doesn't feel any need to do anything more than he has already done.
Orly Taitz is no William Penn. William Penn did not accuse his judge of illegally meeting with someone who was thousands of miles away from the alleged meeting.
Orly Taitz is (for the moment, at least) admitted to the State Bar of California. As such, she has a duty, under the law, to "maintain the respect due to the courts of justice and judicial officers." Do you think she is doing that?
I think she is the ONLY member of the Bar doing Justice Justice in this matter.
The California State Bar rule regarding attorneys having sex with clients is here.
The California State Bar rule regarding attorneys having sex with clients is here.
My belief is that he is Constitutionally invalid as President.
Do you hold this same belief, or perhaps you can provide a theory as to why the birth records are "locked away" in a "secret state vault" per the Governor of Hawaii?
Surely even YOU find that to be suspicious, or at least ridiculous.
If you think a lawyer lying about a federal judge is "doing justice justice," we'll have to disagree.
Did she lie? If so call her to a hearing and take evidence and testimony under oath and cross — otherwise you slander her, sir.
Thanks for the link.
Given my laymen’s reading, it appears there is no major ethical problem with Lincoln and Taitz getting it on, unless a quid pro quo could be proven. But Lincoln doesn’t allege that sex was part of the QPQ he referenced so it’s probably “ethical” per the site you supplied.
Still icky and weird, but technically ethical by CBA standards. Then again, I’m sure the CBA will be busy enough with other complaints against her.
FYI - Obama’s vital records are on file in accordance with the laws of Hawaii. They aren’t locked away in a secret vault. That’s an urban legend. Governor Lingle never said that.
Judge Land made a finding of fact that Orly falsely accused him of meeting with Attorney General Holder, on a day when the judge was in Georgia and Holder was in Los Angeles.
Ah, name-calling again. What's wrong with seeking Constitutional validity, professor?
"Mind you, this is not asking what the correct or moral decision is."
"But what's in it for him?"
Who cares what he thinks. As a taxpayer, I object to a single US taxpayer dollar being used to shield himself against a justifiable investigation. If he has committed fraud to get into office, then why should the taxpayer finance his legal defense fund?
"Why should he feel, from his point of view, any motivation to do anything about it?"
Again, who cares what the narcissist thinks.
Oh they’re busy investigating her all right. Word on the federal circuit is that she’ll lose her license.
If you say so.
Whatever “vital records” there are, that is. They have something on file, but I’m not sure what.
The fact that he refuses to provide information to anyone just tells me he is hiding something big.
What is he hiding? I can only speculate based on all the cash, energy and time he spends shielding himself. However, I imagine the real documents (if they haven't been destroyed already) are enough to prove that he has no right to sit in the Oval Office.
That doesn’t surprise me at all.
I am a tad surprised Orly hasn’t addressed this on her blog yet. It’s a pretty scandalous allegation.
That’s quite a compromised finding, as he judged himself. Sorry, that doesn’t pass the common sense test.
Again, call a court hearing and have a disinterested panel make that determination,
