Bring the Troops Home Now
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 11-15-09 | Joseph Farah

I was a supporter of both the Afghanistan invasion and the Iraq war.

I believed then, following the Sept. 11 attacks, that it was a matter of national security to hand Islamic terrorists stunning defeats in their own backyards.

Even a year ago, I would have said bringing the troops home prematurely would be tantamount to surrender to an enemy determined to do us in.

But that was then. This is now.

Things have changed and changed dramatically.

The biggest change is one in America's leadership.

I do not believe Barack Obama is capable of achieving anything remotely resembling victory in either Iraq or Afghanistan – at least not victory for the United States of America.

A president incapable of recognizing that war came home Nov. 5 at Fort Hood is certainly incapable of waging foreign wars.

A president incapable of recognizing that terrorists are among us could never be counted on to do the right thing in remote places like Afghanistan and Iraq.

A president whose own worst enemies are the Republican Party, Fox News Channel and the tea party movement couldn't possibly ever understand the nature of real combat.

It's time to bring the troops home now!

The real question now and will always be: Is this war absolutely necessary?

Our president and our public are signaling that it is a “take-it-or-leave-it” war. One can’t make up his mind, and the public, and it doesn’t matter the reason, will stay or go depending on the whimsy of the president.

Wars should not be fought because the president wants to.

They should not be fought because we can win them.

They should not be fought because we support them.

They should not be fought because we do or don’t support any given president.

They should only be fought when the danger to our country makes them absolutely necessary.

This deals with the lives of real men and women we are talking about.

The GIs are not dieing overseas for nothing. I’m sure that you’ve heard all the reasons why it would be a bad idea, but let me restate some.
*The reason we’re back there now is because we didn’t
finish the job the first time.
*Leaving would prove to the enemy that we are weak.
*It would also prove that we are unwilling to win.
*We were winning militarily in Vietnam when the
Democrats had us pull out. How’d that turnout?
*Pulling out would mean a strengthing of our enemy.
Remember how many predicted our defeat in Iraq? Look where we are today.

Yes, currently we have to deal with a president who has an anti-war/anti-military agenda at this time. However, I don’t believe he can hold that position. Especially when continuely prodded by those of us who support victory. Americans are quitters. We must keep going.

...If the imbeciles who think bringing the troops home is an answer, they are in for more death and expense...

...The IslamOfascists who are in America and the millions who are in Europe will have the green light to finish off what was done on 9/11 and in other parts of the world in the recent years...

...The terrorists who flew the plane into the Pentagon lived 6 miles from me here in San Diego...

...The Imam Anwar al-Awlake who was the Imam here at one of the mosques here and was attending San Diego St. Univ. for one of his degrees...

...This same Imam is was also the same Imam for the Ft. Hood Terrorist Hasan and the one he e-mailed 20+ times the past year...

... This same Imam helped with the Ft. Dix and Toronto plots...

This Imam is not in Afghanistan. He's in Yemen.

Thanks for setting us straight!

Now we need to consider your point:

They should only be fought when the danger to our country makes them absolutely necessary

I would say that an axis formed by Nuclear Pakistan, Nuclear Iran, Nuclear North Korea, and Lawless Afghanistan will send Fourth Generation Warfare again to our shores.

Add in the Stealth takeover of American universities and Media by Saudi money, and we, like Europe, will be fighting this war as the previous generation did the Cold War.

Does it need to be a hot war in Central Asia ?

That's the question that needs answering.

See my post to goldstategop about why it is a bad idea to cede victory to the enemy.

We were winning militarily in Vietnam when the Democrats had us pull out. How’d that turnout?

It turned out the the USSR saw how vacillating we were, and they in turn invaded Afghanistan in 1980 and set in motion the events that are there today.

It is criminally unfair to put Americans in harm’s way by supporting defeat. I agree with your three points, but defeat is not an option. It would be far more dangerous than the threat that Obama poses. Pick up you phone and make calls to get him to make the right decision which is to fight for victory, freedom, and stability!

You talking about Afghanistan? There was no "first time", we've been there continually since 2001.

...We were winning militarily in Vietnam when the Democrats had us pull out...

Richard Nixon ended the Vietnam war.

Wars are not entered into lightly. Therefore you answered the question. It is absolutely necessary for the security of this country. People without backgrounds in military and political affairs don’t understand how wars are fought, nor the stages involved. There seems to be an unwillingness to have the patience to succeed. I blame that on the instantaeousness of our lives. We can get our food right away. Send mail overnight. See news from around the world as it happens. So they don’t understand why wars take so long.

We should never cede victory to an enemy. Never!

I don’t think you realize who’s running things now.

It’s not just Obama, you know.

As the Pelosi witch loves to cackle:

Elections have consequences.

And the fact is, after the last election VICTORY is not an option. Not for US soldiers. Not with the Obamanation-in-Chief.

Make the whole country a free fire zone, and let the ragheads know about.

All ambushes or ieds will result massive air strikes on known enemy harbors.

Yes there was a first time. We backed the Afghanis when they fought the Russians. After the Russians withdrew, we didn’t give the money to rebuild the infrastructure, so the Taliban was able to get a foothold.

You are right that Nixon started the withdraw, but it was at the prodding of the Democrats who had the majority, and the anti-war movement that motivated the Dems. We won Nam militarily, but lost politically.

I know the I is in Yemen.
This is not a one country war.

This goes beyond the type of war of WWII
even though Pearl Harbor in the Pacific was bombed we found we also had to fight in North Africa, Europe, etc.

Do you support the enemy? Do you support mass graves and oppression? If the answer is no, then you can keep those positions.

By the way, with regard to your tag, wild things are sorry for themselves sometimes, just like domestic animals.
