Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Republican voters say former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin shares the values of most GOP voters throughout the nation.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 21% of Republican voters disagree and think the 2008 vice presidential candidate does not share their values. Twenty percent (20%) are undecided.
By contrast, 74% of Republicans say their partys representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years. Only 18% of Republican voters believe their elected officials have done a good job representing the base.

Courage is an attribute that I wish the leadership of the GOP shared with her. My list of the things she values was not meant to be all inclusive.
They are scared of how she went after corrupt members of her own party in Alaska, and are afraid she will do the same to the national GOP.
wow.
I triage politicians into those whom I loathe (Obama, Specter, Murtha), those for whom I have a deep distrust that doesn't quite reach the level of loathing (McCain, Lieberman, Huckabee), and those who I'm willing to tolerate (DeMint, Palin, Steve King).
The phrase "burst of sunshine" will never appear along with "candidate for political office" in any sentence that I write.
It says 20 percent of all voters say they are going to read Palin’s book, that would mean about 22 million people. Even is only 25 percent of them buy the book as opposed to checking it out of the libary, sales would be over 5 million copies, not bad.
I’d like to see a similar poll run about the end of February, after Palin’s book, book signing tour, interviews, and several announced speaking engagements have been given time to perculate. I’m betting that her numbers will be far better, and if she really does sell 5 million copies of her book, look out.
When given the choise of Sarah or a democrat, the rest of the party will most decidedly vote Sarah.
“Rasmussen: 59% of GOP Voters Say Palin Shares Their Values”
The other 41% are from the Romney/Guliani wing of the party.
Romney resigned from his spot as gov of MASS the day after he was swore in to run full time for POTUS...
Oh yes it wasnt on paper...He didnt let you know about it...
But he was absent much of the time on business...POTUS campaign business...
Was that an embarassment to you ???
The question was about shared values. The question did not ask about support for her candidacy. There is a difference.
Yeah, well, if that 59% doesn’t immediately leave the GOP and join a third party, then that just proves that they’re all a bunch of RINOs!
Obviously, “like a burst of sunshine” was descriptive of the mood among conservatives after having NO light for a long time.
Furthermore, if you have not reached the level of “loathing” for either mcclown OR lie berman, you are far more tolerant than I.
Obama, Specter, Murtha are far beyond my “loathe” point and into a catagory of abject revulsion I have not thought of a word for yet. But I will.
On Huckabee, we agree. See. Silver linings in every cloud. Nothing like a little burst of sunshine to brighten a dreary world.
>> The question was about shared values. The question did not ask about support for her candidacy. There is a difference.
Technically, I suppose there is.
But, do you mean to say that those who share her values would support, as a candidate, someone whose values they did NOT share instead of supporting her candidacy?
Today, Sarah's book is STILL #1 on the Amazon best seller list. She's been on the top 100 list for the last 49 days.
She's also #1 on Barnes&Nobles.
And Glenn Beck is #4 on the NY Times Best Seller list. (Sarah's book is not on the list, I'll guess they will ignore pre-sales)
(Sarah’s book is not on the list, I’ll guess they will ignore pre-sales)
Pre-release sales are counted on the day of release, Nov 17th in the case of Going Rogue, and included in books actually bought off the shelves of stores or ordered online on Nov 17th.
I suspect Palin will set a record or two along the way with this book
Europe is even worse, but people who have been beaten down by high taxes and demogogic media have a hard time knowing the alternative is better. The media brainwashes; just think Orwell-lite.
For ex., the media keeps telling them the other side is theocratic hillbillies like Sarah Palin and blah blah blah. Its like the Stockholme Syndrome, IMO.
Next time an opinion from the children's table is requested, feel free to join in. Until such time, please keep your attempts at analysis to yourself.
Sarah speaks to self-reliant people everywhere. All those of us who put ourselves through school, worked for everything we had, raised families (good times and bad)...and never once bought in to the “Ms.” women’s lib victim movement. She is a breath of fresh air on the political stage.
The potential nominee almost always gets at least 90% of the party vote. Even the hapless Juan McCain, who shared the values with less than 40% of Republicans, still managed to get around 90% of the Republican Party vote when it came down to it.
I don't see why a Sarah Palin presidential candidate shouldn't get over 90% of the Republican vote with ease, if she is nominated.
” I also think that, especially by resigning, shes made herself an embarrassment to my cause”
To YOUR cause?
WTH you talking about?
Because the oh-so-objective Palin critics say so.
LOL!
59% is not a very high number, and considering the other side of the aisle is 0% her chances in a national campaign are too remote.
I consider myself a supporter but also realistic. The Right/Center-Right needs someone that can at least attract independents (like myself), even if they get zero from dems.
Palin fanatics need to ignore the insults and realize there are some valid issues concerning electability and depth-of-knowledge in issues.
Bush was right on many issues, Palin may be too but we need someone that can communicate and connect with the huge center that exists. That center is growing daily as peoples eyes are opened to the big fumble happening now on the center-left that needs to be taken advantage of.
