The November 3 special congressional election in New York may not be over after all.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) may have jumped the gun by swearing in new Democratic Congressman Bill Owens from the 23rd Congressional District of New York.
Although Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman conceded to Owens, the state has yet to certify the election -- and the recanvassing of votes by the county Boards of Election shows Owens' lead has narrowed to 3,026 votes, with about 5,800 absentee ballots received so far that have yet to be counted.
Hans von SpakovskyHans von Spakovsky, a visiting legal scholar at The Heritage Foundation and a former member of the Federal Election Commission, says even if Hoffman were to ultimately win the race, he doubts Pelosi would allow him in Congress.
"I frankly don't trust that Speaker Pelosi would actually do the right thing," he admits.

You got that right.
Franken will make HHH look good.
The States job to certify the election, the RATS job to,,,,,,,,silly boy, grow up.
Exactly. GOP should publish all known voter frauds (and voter intimidations) and set up a clear path to get rid of those, ie push photo ID requirement (even Mexico, Iraq and every country on earth has it) and some simple double-checks, especially to counter dem-controlled districts where all in charge of the ballot boxes are dems.
“The American people cant understand how they are destroying themselves.”
You hit the nail squarely on the head.
Hoffman is on Beck right now saying he’s trailing by about 2000 with actually 10000 left to count. Says he needs 56-60% of remaining votes.
Hoffman says he is “unconceding” on Beck.
Now we have a more clear picture.
Just talked to my rep’s office (Cliff Stearns, FL good guy conservative). The “rules” say that, because Hoffman conceded, Pelosi could confirm Owens even though NY hasn’t announced him as winner yet. Hoffman conceded because the tallies that had come in had him losing by MANY thousands of votes... BECAUSE SEVERAL DISTRICTS IN NEW YORK FAILED TO SEND HOFFMAN’S VOTES WHEN THEY SENT THE RESULTS. Those districts only reported Owens’ votes and reported Hoffman as zero. When they realized their mistake the districts sent the correct results — AFTER Hoffman conceded. He cannot “unconcede” and we can’t get the healthcare bill overturned because apparently it was all according to the rules. If Hoffman turns out with more votes, he’ll be the new rep and Owens will be gone. What a mess.
I’d like to know what the consequences will be for Pelosi and Owens should Hoffman be certified the winner. She swore in the loser of an uncertified election and Owens voted on the Health Care bill. Surely some laws were broken there!
the missing ballots are in the closet and will suddenly appear should Hoffman go ahead in the count.
I don't see Hoffman doing it. The Dems have gotten pretty good at absentee ballots and probably a chunk of those will also go to Dede.
Hoffman would have to get between 3,026 of the absentee votes (assuming all the rest went to DS) or 4013 (if none of it went to DS) to send it to the tie-breaking process.
IIRC, it was 10,000 absentee ballots sent out. It looks like only 5,800 were returned. I don’t know what the deadline is there regarding military ballots.
If it isn’t close, they can’t cheat...
I dont know what the deadline is there regarding military ballots.
I don’t remember the post mark deadline but I believe they had to be received by Nov. 9, which was monday a week ago. The county where Ft Drum is located had something like 2200 military ballots requested and had recieved back a little over 1300 from the last story I saw.
This nation has to be taken over by a responsible force that will look out for the majority and look upon what comprised our Congress as being traitorous dogs!
As others have posted, Red, when it comes to situations like this and the Democrat Communist Party hasn’t stolen the election already, chances are they’re complete the job when they count these final ballots.
