The November 3 special congressional election in New York may not be over after all.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) may have jumped the gun by swearing in new Democratic Congressman Bill Owens from the 23rd Congressional District of New York.
Although Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman conceded to Owens, the state has yet to certify the election -- and the recanvassing of votes by the county Boards of Election shows Owens' lead has narrowed to 3,026 votes, with about 5,800 absentee ballots received so far that have yet to be counted.
Hans von SpakovskyHans von Spakovsky, a visiting legal scholar at The Heritage Foundation and a former member of the Federal Election Commission, says even if Hoffman were to ultimately win the race, he doubts Pelosi would allow him in Congress.
"I frankly don't trust that Speaker Pelosi would actually do the right thing," he admits.

Nutsy merely used her empirical power to anoint a yet unelected sycophant.
Do they have military guards protecting the ballots to ensure RAT voter fraud isn’t going on at the same time. That is RAT slime SOP. Steal every election possible and destroy the country.
Hmmmm. another case of the military vote being tossed?
Looks like Palin helped.
Pray for America’s Freedom
Those numbers were from the end of last week. The first count said there were over 10,000 ballots yet to be counted with a 3026 vote difference. Now it is down to 5800 and the same count. Something doesn’t add up here, or they are the slowest counting district in the country.
Bump for later.
Recounts are pointless. They always help the Democrat, so why bother?
Sending good thoughts to the vote counters! :)
Don’t worry.....someone, somewhere in NY is driving around with a couple of ballot boxes in their trunk waiting for the appropriate moment to spring them into the mix. (they have to get their cue from Al Frankenstein)
(”Nutsy”.....I like it! lol)
My guess is any future close election will be stolen by the Democrats. Republicans are so cowardly it makes me sick.
“”Owens’ lead has narrowed to 3,026 votes, with about 5,800 absentee ballots received so far that have yet to be counted.”
Unlikely but possible for Owens to lose. 85% chance Owens win.
As the lawyers descend. Kinda like Florida and Minnesota.
Yes more shenanigans are sure to happen in the very near future.
Ever since 2000, the Republicans should have pushed for election reform. I think that if one party pushed for it, the other would almost have to join in -- what could be more bipartisan than the desire for honest elections? Hmmmmmmm? But no one at the top seems to care.
I would love it if Michael Steele were to compile a list of election irregularities over the past 10 years, and detail which party benefited from the irregularity. A pro-active approach might make it harder for future elections to be stolen through naked fraud at recount time.
But I won't hold my breath.
The Franken election took 7 months to "recount".
yes but they had an ostensible count quickly. challages and revisions came after.
Part of the picture is missing. Ten thousand four hundred absentee ballots were requested and sent out. The 5400 is the number of absentee ballots received and to be counted. sd
“Ever since 2000, the Republicans should have pushed for election reform. I think that if one party pushed for it, the other would almost have to join in”
Excellent point.

Michael Steele is still trying to bring “minorities” into the “minority” party. 95 percent likelihood of failure!
Not at all, true “electon reform” is unappealing to the “democracy”, which feeds on their side winning or else! The American people can’t understand how they are destroying themselves.
