Can Sarah Palin Make a Comeback?
Wall Street Journal ^ | 11/13/2009 | MATTHEW CONTINETTI

Posted on 11/14/2009 9:14:36 PM PST by PreciousLiberty

I don't typically watch Oprah. But I won't miss Monday's interview with Sarah Palin. The appearance is supposed to be about Ms. Palin's new memoir, but a lot more will be riding on the encounter than book sales.

After last year's brutal presidential campaign, Ms. Palin is now reintroducing herself to the American public. Nothing less than her future in American politics—and a possible run for the White House in 2012—hangs in the balance.

Ms. Palin has two problems. The first is that she's become one of the most polarizing figures in the country. The second is that voters continue to worry about her qualifications for the presidency, a concern that her abrupt resignation from office last July intensified.

Lucky for her, both problems are solvable. Since Ms. Palin appeared on the national stage, the left has unfairly demonized her. Blockbuster interviews and book tours will humanize her.

More important than these public appearances is Ms. Palin's message. She needs to adopt a market-friendly populist agenda to strengthen her policy credentials and make her seem less partisan to independent voters. A bipartisan, center-right approach should come easily to her. That's how she won her race for governor in 2006.

Go Sarah! Palin 2012! This article once again points out her obvious similarity to Reagan.

Personally I think things are lining up well for her...

I think Palin should hire Continetti as an adviser. He seems like a good person.

Me too..the more the left attack her, the more people will see that she is the one that can beat Obama. Just like Rush says, the media shows us everyday who they are terrified of. They are not terrified of Romney or Huckabee(Who just has a new book out, is the media fact checking that book..yeah thats what I thought) or Pawlenty, its Sarah Palin they are scared to death of, and not scared to death like Freddie Krugar scared, but scared like she is going to throw Obama’s ass out of the White House in 2012 kinda scared

“but scared like she is going to throw Obama’s ass out of the White House in 2012 kinda scared”

That sounds beyond good to me!

The US needs a Palin type for the next Presidential term. If not her, her clone would be fine...I just haven’t seen anyone else for years that comes close in terms of being a true reformer.

I voted for Sarah Palin in 2008 and had to unfortunately also take that codger John McCain as part of the package deal.

I hope if she does run, she picks Michele Bachmann as her VP Candidate. I know some here probably have mixed feelings about Michele but I think she is just perfect for the job. Two chicks who have more balls then the men. That is what we need in Washington...common sense

“Chrissy mathews says on his wknd show that she’ll be the candidate”

I’m quite sure she’s sent a thrill up many a leg so far, and she’s just getting started... :-)

If she stands up for conservative principles - small government, free enterprise, personal liberty, and a strong military - then she will be embraced strongly by many who may have given her a thumbs-down when some stupid pollster called.

It won’t be hard to primarily be the Anti-Obama. Because more and more people are realizing he’s doing all the wrong things.

BO will give citizenship to 30 million illegal aliens next year before the Nov. elections. They will vote for the Democrats. Hate to burst your bubble about Sara winning anything or anyone else for that matter other than an outright commie loving pinko facist pig.

Something else while I’m at it; I get highly agitated when viewing Obama bmumper stickers anymore. Just seeing the pigs name gives me urges of road rage. How can people be so stupid to have voted for this SOB and still proudly display the bumper sticker?

Islam is a cancer, radiation the cure. Lots of radiation.

I don’t know what state you live in but here in Los Angeles, I still see those stupid ass Obama stickers on cars. I was listening to Tammy Bruce a few days ago on the radio, and she said she was at a stoplight here in LA and saw a car with an Obama sticker, she rolled down her window and yelled at the guy “Hey, I saw your Obama sticker on your car” and the guy smiled at her and she said “How stupid must you feel right now” and the guy was just shocked LOL! It’s bad enough these idiots even voted for Obama, but to have stickers on their cars like they are proud of it..idiots what can I say
Now as far as giving those illegals amnesty, of course they will vote Democrat. That is the whole point of why Obama is doing it. Yeah, like he gives a rats behind about the illegals. He knows that if they are given citizenship, who are they gonna vote for..hmmm let’s see..Oh yeah, Democrat. That’s 30 million new Democrat voters. The Republican party and our country will have NO chance. It won’t matter who runs in 2012, if that happens, and this health care crap passes, America as we know it is finished.

She needs to adopt a market-friendly populist agenda

Isn't this just double-speak for move to the middle and must adopt a "moderate" [i.e. RAT lite] agenda? Sarah Palin can't make a "come-back" because she has never left!!!!!
