Student refused; was held down for vaccination.
It took the strength of two sheriff's deputies to keep a middle schooler still enough to receive a shot of the swine flu, or H1N1, vaccine at a recent clinic.
During a regular Wheeling-Ohio County Health Board meeting Tuesday, health department Administrator Howard Gamble told board members about the student's attempt to flee Wheeling Middle School during a vaccination clinic held there last Friday.
He noted the boy's mother could not bear to watch the scene and left the gymnasium.
"He tried to run. I looked over and saw two sheriff's deputies holding a kid down," Gamble said. "Mom took off, she couldn't take it. You had one nurse with the needle, two deputies holding him, one nurse is grabbing hands - because that's what they want to do, to go after the needle. And that's the last thing you want."

Did you see this from Mass ?
Resist injections? Go to jail!

My husband looked at me and said "that's the last time I take that kid for a shot". But it was NOT government mandated...The government only mandated Polio, and the pertussin and 2 others (another senior moment) Couldn't have been mumps, measles or chicken pox as they all had those..
maybe not murder, but a good old fashion ass kicking would be in order, thats battery on a child..
You cannot force by mandate or under color of authority, forced immunization, using some goo that has never been tested for predictable efficacy rates or known side effects.
Further, in many parts of the country this goo is being delivered with a homogeneous carrier of mercury. Can you believe it? Mercury. Weird, my mother warned me about mercury all my life.
Lastly, there is more than ample evidence that the Swine Bull has mortality rates taht are sub par to other strains of flu. In fact, for every case requiring hospitalization, less than 1% will end in death.
Each life is valuable but, when weighed against the odds of a cure that is not guaranteed in any way nor are the side effects known, why take something that could injure you, when you have a greater likely hood of surviving, as a whole person.
Now, remind me again why the government provided blanket immunity of litigation for what could be simple syrup being injected or goo from a contaminated super dump.
Anyone? Anyone?
My God, I am so thankful my kids are in college and I don’t have to deal with these fascist pigs anymore. When my youngest son graduated, I felt I was released from prison. So did he! Between the oldest and the youngest, the schools too a turn for the fascist and abusive side. Now it is even worse for families.
45 posts and apparently you were the only one who read the article and understands what happened.
The boy’s mother brought him to the clinic to get a flu shot.
Ease up folks or we’re all going to be branded as loonies.
I believe it is a true phobia.
I had to get one of my anthrax series shots last year in the Green Zone (Baghdad.) My wait at the CASH seemed longer than usual. Finally, a somewhat pale, but big, young strapping Marine left the little office and I was ushered in for my shot.
The medic apologized for the wait by explaining that the Marine had passed out cold after the needle went in. He said that it's not unusual...there are perfectly healthy, stable, brave adults who are petrified of needles.
I think I’d go after the deputies and the bastard that told them to get me.
BAseball bat, or whatever should be taken to each ones head.
Therefore no story, just bad writing.
Read the article. This appears to be the sort of school where at least one sheriff’s deputy is a permanent fixture, as “the school’s resource officer”. According to the county health department administrator, additional deputies were “mostly there for parking and directions.” The kid bolted out of the building (i.e. potentially towards the parking area and at risk of running into the path of a car). His mother had brought him to get the shot, and apparently wasn’t up to chasing him. The sheriff’s deputies were just helping ensure the boy got the vaccination that his mother had brought him to get. Not a problem. It’s silly to get worked up over this sort of thing. There are plenty of incidents where school officials and law enforcement really do violate students’ basic rights, like the strip search incidents, and arresting and handcuffing tantrum-throwing kindergarteners for kicking the teacher.
Wow.
I imagine when that becomes law, there will be some citizen somewhere who will reciprocate and offer his own, special sort of “injection” to the person who comes to take him away.
If I were that mom and that were my kid, there’d be two deputies with .45 caliber holes in their heads. Nobody, NOBODY has the right to touch me or my family. PERIOD!
He was only 10 when he got the shot that took 2 guys to hold him down, he gave them a good fight and had a great pair of lungs...I laughed, but poor hubby was embarrassed. Hey, that's my boy......I expected it as I had been the one that took him to the doctor for all his shots...
He made no fuss waiting in line, and walked into the room fine, then he saw the needle and POW he went ballistic..
