CNN to Lou Dobbs: Don't Let the Door Hit You....
NewsRealBlog.com ^ | November 12, 2009 | Ben Johnson

Posted on 11/12/2009 2:15:37 PM PST by FrontPageMag.com

The left-wing media wouldn't know a class act if he anchored for them for 30 years.

Lou Dobbs's departure from CNN has turned into a cause for celebration -- at CNN. Network president Jonathan Klein dismissively called Lou's program "advocacy journalism" in an otherwise respectful tribute. But Politico.com quotes an anonymous network source:

"I think it's safe to say that he won't be missed among the rank-and-file employees at the network," said a CNN staffer. "The Dobbs show has existed in its own little universe for the last several years, in many ways cut off from the rest of the editorial process at CNN. Most people will be left wondering what this means for the primetime lineup and whether Klein can now deliver on his 'down the middle' mantra."

"Down the middle"? Presumably, Anderson Cooper is now free to slander tea party protesters as perverts, while Wolf Blitzer's team investigates Saturday Night Live skits (wrongly) with no counterpart to the Right. Or the center. CNN viewers will not forget that network allowed (or encouraged?) Susan Roesgen to antagonize tea party protesters on camera, gave Christiane Amanpour six hours to compare Rev. John Hagee to Osama bin Laden, and broadcast Soledad O'Brien asking if President Bush was "slow to respond" to Hurricane Katrina because "pictures of mostly black people were on TV" -- among a litany of other, daily left-wing outrages. The bloom was off CNN's "unbiased" rose long ago. This video illustrates the bias of CNN's reporters when they're not on the air....

"CNN is a sinking ship."

I'll bet they paid somebody a lot of money to screw that up.

(My boss used to hate it when I said that...)

Prolly a good tagline there...

Seeing as I never watch CNN,I am not familiar with Mr.Dobbs work, but if they ran Dobbs off for not fitting into their mold, he must be an OK kind of newsman. I’m sure that he will turn up elsewhere.

Heard a moron on WOR this morning insist that Jack Cafferty was unbiased.

And that the New York Times was a reliable source of unbiased news too.

CNN. Reminds me of the Monty Python flying sheep sketch. Substitute CNN for sheep, and Hard News for birds, and Accurate Reporting for flying and it’s right on.

City Gent Oh, jolly good too. (surveys field; he looks puzzled) I say, those are sheep aren’t they?
Rustic Ar.
City Gent Yes, yes of course, I thought so...only...er why are they up in the trees?
Rustic A fair question and one that in recent weeks has been much on my mind. It’s my considered opinion that they’re nesting.
City Gent Nesting?
Rustic Ar.
City Gent Like birds?
Rustic Ar. Exactly. Birds is the key to the whole problem. It’s my belief that these sheep are laborin’ under the misapprehension that they’re birds. Observe their behavior. Take for a start the sheeps’ tendency to ‘op about the field on their back legs. (off-screen baa-ing) Now witness their attempts to fly from tree to tree. Notice that they do not so much fly as...plummet. (sound of sheep plummeting) Observe for example that ewe in that oak tree. She is clearly trying to teach her lamb to fly. (baaaaaa...thump) Talk about the blind leading the blind.
City Gent But why do they think they’re birds?
Rustic Another fair question. One thing is for sure; a sheep is not a creature of the air. They have enormous difficulty in the comparatively simple act of perchin’. (crash) As you see. As for flight, its body is totally unadapted to the problems of aviation. Trouble is, sheep are very dim. Once they get an idea in their heads, there’s no shifting it.

CNN is a Socialist, Obama-crazy Liberal bastion of Marxism.

Did I mention with no viewers?

It’s the lucky man who jumps off of a sinking ship —no pity needed there.

In 5 years we’ll all be free of the NYT and MSNBC, too.

The whole infrastructure of the media is changing —they’re the dinosaurs, and I just felt the first flakes of snow falling.

How’s that firing your one audience-drawer workin’ out for you CNN?

Morons. There were probably at least a few million folks that only
tuned into CNN at 6PM CST.
And now have no need to tune in CNN again starting today!!!
I know as I am one of that demographic!

>> Dobbs is coming over to Fox Business, I’m sure. <<

Does this mean you’ve read Lou’s contract with CNN? I believe these contracts typically have “early termination” clauses that prohibit a performer from going to work at a competitor’s shop for several years. So if you’re confident that Dobbs’ CNN contract is not typical, please let us know.

Dobbs really was an outstanding financial news man above all else. In recent years, he turned his attention to the threat of illegal immigration, financial bailouts, etc. Needless to say, this didn’t play on CNN.

Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs were the only reasons I ever watched CNN. Let’s see how his former co-workers celebrate when his audience moves with him.

Noncompeting clauses are typically unenforceable when the corporation unilaterally terminates an employee without just cause.
