The Week ^ | 11/12/09 | David Frum, Atlantic, Jules Crittenden, Time

President Obama was put to the test in his first major speech as "healer-in-chief" after the Fort Hood tragedy. While eulogizing Maj. Nidal Hasan's victims, Obama had to soothe bereft families, navigate the thorny issues of Islam and terrorism, and reaffirm the American spirit, all without sounding trite. For some, he also needed to erase the memory of his first, much-criticized public remarks on the massacre. (Watch Obama's speech at Fort Hood.) While some commentators are calling the eulogy his "best speech ever," others don't agree.

“Healer-In-Chief” is deserving of it’s own hurl-alert.
0bama (teleprompter queen) reads a speech that someone else writes for him.
Our veterans and military deserve a better CiC.

If his speech was so great, why wouldn’t they even quote from it, nor post a transcript of it?

Truer words were never spoken.

The pretender is exactly that a “reader”. There was no emotional connection to the tele-prompted speech. He is such an empty suit.

If one of my relatives was killed by that terrorist, and this over inflated egomaniac came to the post and started his lies I would tell him to drop dead and then I would walk away..The boys and girls of Ft Hood can't get into trouble since they are dead and this Muslims brother killed them..It is time that we take this country back from all these blow holes in Washington show them at the polls who runs this country..And when we do get them out of office go after this moron that thinks he is president..kick him out of office..

Healer of what - all of the damage that's been done by his liberal bretheren over the last 40 years? That's like inviting Jason to be a counselor at Camp Crystal Lake.

As a friend of mine just called and said (and she can’t stand zero) it was a really good speech but it lacked one very big thing - EMOTION!!!!!!

"There was no emotional connection to the tele-prompted speech."

Of course there wasn't, he's a Narcissist; he can only emotionally connect with himself. Watch how impatient he looks when he is forced to be present and it can't be all about HIM.

Another sad truth.
