Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent "considerable time" consoling those who were wounded in Thursday's shooting spree, Fox News has learned. The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News. The couple was described as "deeply concerned" about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38. The Bushes, who have a 1,600-acre property known as Prairie Chapel Ranch less than 30 miles from Fort Hood in central Texas, spent between one and two hours visiting the wounded and their families.

Class tells.

And do you suppose Brack found time in his schedule to visit before or after hearing about W's visit?

You already said it, but I’ll say it again:

GW Bush has something Obama could never hope to have.
Class.

Exactly! Has anyone heard from Carter or Clinton on the subject?

God bless them both!

I'm sure they will visit often, and will give these soldiers the comfort and encouragement they need.

They're sure not going to get any concern from the phony in the White House. God help us all! God protect our troops from our enemies within our walls.

I’m sure the troops liked being visited by a president, instead of the usurper in chief.

George Bush is genuine and sincere. Obama is empty and angry.

Was this a second visit? I thought I read that they visited last week, privately, as well.

George Washington was called “The Father of our Country”...

and not without cause...

When something like this acrocity happens, the survivors and loved ones want to turn to the father figure of America...

for the sincere compassion and comfort that would be found there...

George Bush was that when he was president ...

and he continues to be...

He cries with the victims with a broken heart at times like these...

Who would I want to visit me and put his arms around me with words of comfort is something like this happened to my children ???

George and Laura Bush...

and ABBC (Anyone But Barry and Company)

I wasn’t the least bit surprised when President Bush and his wife went to visit the soldiers. He has always loved America and what it stands for. He made no excuses to the rest of the world for the way we do things. He always protected our great country.
Also, let me say that I wasn’t the least bit surprised that President Obama DIDN’T!
