Backlash fever is sweeping the nation: thirteen Americans are dead and thirty-eight wounded in a jihad attack at Fort Hood, and our governments primary concern -- from the Chief of Staff of the Army to the Islamic pressure groups such as CAIR -- are focused entirely on ensuring that Muslims in the United States are not being victimized by a backlash.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declared: We object to, and do not believe, that anti-Muslim sentiment should emanate from this. This was an individual who does not represent the Muslim faith. She said that DHS was taking steps to prevent everybody being painted with a broad brush. Not taking steps to prevent another jihad terror attack. And she promised: One of the things well do is make sure that were reaching out to the state and local authorities within the US, because they often have better outreach to members of the Muslim community than we do.
The U.S. Army Chief of Staff, George Casey, likewise seemed primarily concerned about the safety of Muslims, not about the safety of the potential victims of the next jihad attack: Im concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And Ive asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that. Not Im concerned that there could be another jihadist among our Muslim soldiers. And Ive asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that.
Casey added: Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse. So not having enough Muslims in the military would be worse than mass murder. And this man is the U.S. Army Chief of Staff.
The media was mining the same territory. AP reported Friday that there had been immediate anti-Muslim backlash. What happened? Did armed bands of furious Islamophobes throw molotov cocktails at mosques? Did ferocious white supremacists maul fragile little girls in hijabs on their way to school? Did angry bigots spit at pious imams quietly going about their business?
No.
Had there been any report -- any report at all -- of any innocent, random Muslim being attacked in a backlash after the Fort Hood jihad?
Nope. Not one. Americans are decent people. Americans believe people are innocent until proven guilty. But Ibrahim Hooper and his fellow thugs at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) need to be able to claim that hate crimes are being committed so that they can claim victim status for Muslims and deflect attention away from such small matters as the jihad at Fort Hood. And, naturally, the clueless and/or complicit mainstream media in their hip pocket.
And so we witness the strange phenomenon of stories of Muslims fearing a backlash soaring and the numbering of actual incidents of backlash remaining at zero. In the AP story, all that followed the announcement of an immediate anti-Muslim backlash were various stories about mosques and Muslims asking for special police protection, and the like. So in reality, the story should have been headlined, Muslims claim victim status in wake of Fort Hood jihad attack.
The only actual incidents of backlash that AP could come up with were incidents of people calling the Fort Hood massacre a jihad attack -- as if it is Islamophobic and hateful to note that a man was shouting Allahu akbar as he gunned people down, and that he gave out Korans hours before he started shooting people, and that he expressed sympathy for suicide attackers.
Is it unfair -- even racist -- to say then that he may have been motivated by the Islamic jihad doctrine of warfare against unbelievers? To CAIR and the media, yes.
The liberal media is one thing, but the government of our nation is quite another, or at least used to be. Napolitano and Casey should know better. If they do not confront the ideology that leads to such attacks, there will be a steadily-increasing spate of them. But apparently preserving diversity is a higher priority than national security.
Agree. Janet speaks only “The Party” line. Real American security has never occured to her.
Muslim Veterans Group says no harassment of Islamic Soldiers.
Abdul-Rashid Abdullah, deputy director of the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Council, told FoxNews.com that the nonprofit group has not received a single report recently of a U.S. soldier being harassed "simply because he was Muslim."
"That kind of report is inconsistent with what we've heard," Abdullah said prior to a press conference in Washington to denounce Thursday's shooting at Fort Hood, Texas..."

I was in a Sears store and a muslim was behind the register. I sent an e-mail to the store stating that I was offened by the woman in the hijab and that I would not shop where people are employed who’s “religion” tells them to kill me.
I had a number of issues with GW's presidency. However, in retrospect, the one very close to the top is the "Islam is a religion of peace!" declaration.

If they want to live in that culture they should return to it. (And take their religion and language with them.)When in America, do as the Americans do.
that’s a really good point to make. I will do the same.
Till we begin to hold the Left responsible for the results of their religion (Political Correctness is a faith)then all this shrieking does nothing but play into the hands of the left itself. But we on the right are trained by our “leaders” to ineffectively shriek and shout, pout and then write checks to the very same leaders. Communism was wrapped up rather curtly in this country once we cooly eyed its adherents, pointed at them, blamed them and started holding them responsible. Trust me the prozac swillin’ lib kiddies will forget all about their semester of Mommy Prof’s Sociology “truth” class once they feel the pressure.
“A few stares in the stores at Muslims.”
For the moment(subject to change),a good hard glare at a Muslim is my weapon of choice.
Just enough to let them them know I am aware of their presence and I am ready to defend myself accordingly if threatened.
And a Happy Veterans Day to you, Marine!

For the life of me, I can't understand why all the politically correct tiptoeing around Islam and the stated goals of that insidious social/economic system that uses "religion" as a cover.
The Fort Hood 13 are but a glaring example of what that philosophy is all about. And yet we are still warned not to rush to judgment. How many more Americans will be sacrificed at the altar of political correctness before our leadership finally "gets it"?
“I can’t understand why all the politically correct tiptoeing around Islam”
Simple...afraid of being tagged a “racist”
But those of us who live in the “real world” KNOW that Islam is a cult and muzzies HATE everyone who is not muzzie...
heck they don’t even like each other...look how many muzzies were killed in the Iran-Iraq war.
Too late — I’ve been in backlash against murdering mudslimes since 1972.
We object to, and do not believe, that anti-Muslim sentiment should emanate from this. This was an individual who does not represent the Muslim faith. It will..I DO!~
Not that God wants us to hate (or physically attack) Muslims, but if we ignore the fact that Islam was the primary motive of Hassan here, then we’d be lying and stupid!
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
Too bad that the US still hasn’t woke up to the problem yet.

I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.
It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.
