“They don’t trust Eric Holder. That’s the bottom line here. They believe Holder is, if not one of them, willing to either tip off the enemy or go after those who fight the enemy.”

I don’t blame them.

“Despite ban, Holder to speak to CAIR-linked group”

“Attorney General Eric Holder has agreed to give a keynote speech later this month to a Michigan group which includes the local branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations even though the FBI has formally severed contacts with the controversial Muslim civil rights organization...”

This is pure CYA bullsh**. Gosh, I didn't know he was a terrorist. If this had happened under Bush's term, the MSM would be raising all sorts of hell. Since Obama is POTUS, the MSM will not investigate this, nor ask for a special prosecutor.

Oh my gosh-I’ve seen that card numerous times and didn’t notice the misspelling. Doesn’t the military print them?

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said President Barack Obama had ordered all agencies involved in national and homeland security to review Maj. Hasan's case to find out if warning signs were missed .......

It seems a lot of Americans are wondering how they missed warning signs.

As much as I like Pete Hoekstra I think he's throwing a blanket of blame here. The problem can be narrowed down to the FBI and Homeland Security.....with focus on the Justice Dept. for its p/c self righteous parsing of intel.

Hmmmm....wonder where that started?

A very good idea. Perhaps some at this site with the skill set required and sufficient time could pursue such a mission.

Next we will hear how that will need the evidence at the court hearing and that is why they can't share it....

Wait.,...one of the threads says that the Army will do the Hearing...maybe the FBI isn't confident they will do it correctly and legally....

Damn.... who knows why they are playing these damn games.

Officials: Fort Hood Shooter Acted Alone

(CBS/AP) Updated 7:20 a.m. EST

Investigators say the accused shooter at Fort Hood - Major Nidal Malik Hasan - acted alone. CBS News Military Analyst Major Mike Lyons discusses Hasan’s actions and looks into President Obama’s decision to grant Gen. McChrystal additional troops in Afghanistan.

The Army psychiatrist accused of the Fort Hood massacre apparently acted alone and without outside direction, investigative officials said Monday evening, even as the FBI launched an internal review of how it handled information gathered about Hasan nearly a year before the shooting.

*snip*

Based on investigations since the attack, including a review of that 2008 information, the investigators said they have no evidence that Hasan had help or outside orders in the shootings.

*snip*

Galligan said Hasan asked for an attorney even though he is on sedatives and his condition is guarded.

“Given his medical condition, that’s the smart move,” Galligan told The Associated Press on Monday night. “Nobody from law enforcement will be questioning him.”

Galligan said both he and Maj. Christopher E. Martin, Fort Hood’s senior defense attorney, met Hasan. Galligan questioned whether Hasan can get a fair trial at Fort Hood, given President Obama’s planned visit to the base on Tuesday and public comments by the post commander, Lt. Gen. Robert Cone. Galligan also said he plans to raise the issue of Hasan’s mental condition.

The most serious charge in military court is premeditated murder, which carries the death penalty.

The Army has not yet appointed a lead prosecutor in the case, said Fort Hood spokesman Tyler Broadway.

Authorities say Hasan fired off more than 100 rounds Thursday at a soldier processing center before civilian police shot him in the torso. He was taken into custody and eventually moved to an Army hospital in San Antonio, where he was in stable condition and able to talk, said Dewey Mitchell, a Brooke Army Medical Center spokesman.

Authorities continue to refer to Hasan, 39, as the only suspect in the shootings, but they won’t say when charges would be filed and have said they have not determined a motive. A spokesman for Army investigators did not immediately respond to calls and e-mails seeking comment Monday.

Authorities say several witnesses heard Maj. Hasan open fire with two weapons, neither of them Army-issued.

One person with knowledge of the weapons said one was a revolver, the other a FN Herstal “Five-seveN”tactical pistol, which one firearms Web site describes as capable of defeating “most body armor in military service around the world today.”

The FN carries 20 rounds per magazine. One witness said he saw Maj. Hasan reload at least once. A medic who treated the major’s injuries said his camouflage cargo pant pockets were full of magazines.

The shots came so rapidly that Pvt. First Class Marquest Smith, who was going over some paperwork in a cubicle in the building, says he first thought he was hearing microwave popcorn.

The Lt General at Ft Hood should convene an Article 32 investigation if he hasn't done so already and keep this case out of the fumbling hands of the Justice Dept. We've already heard the objections to a Courts Martial (from an Army JAG defense lawyer no less) stating Hasan can't get a fair trial at Ft. Hood ....or in Texas.

That this turns into a dog and pony show trial in a neutral venue at a cost of time and money not to mention the press feeding frenzy, is the last thing the families of the victims and all the rest of us need.

It would not surprise me at all.

I live east of Tampa, Florida and Mac Dill AFB and it would not surprise me in the least to be looking west and think or say, “What is that strange lookimg cloud doing over Tampa.
