By the way, why did it have to fall to a civilian cop to defend enlisted troops? Why are the cobbler’s children going barefoot, so to speak?

Because, unless the Army is different than the Air Force (and I don't think it is) nobody but Security Forces is allowed to carry firearms on base, unless they are in a pretty tightly controlled training situation...i.e., they would have been nowhere near this mess.

Obama's orders.

Why don't we strip Hasan of his citizenship, and deport him.

And oh, by the way -- *THIS* is why the fuss over the birth certificate is legitimate.

Cheers!

I cannot provide a definitive answer...except to say that it is "less expensive" to hire civilian personnel than military. Meaning that if military staff were used exclusively, we'd need many many more of them.

In "the old days"....I know I was given KP; we used exclusively military cooks, and military police.

Then came carter, clintoon, and now the great islamic muslim communist...

Lo and behold...civilians on military installations....lots of 'em.

Probably outsourced. I’ve been wondering about that myself, ever since Thursday when the rumor was going around that a “private officer” had ended the melee. We were jumping the person that used that term, but apparently that’s what these people are. And I saw an interview with the “college” this morning.
