The lightly-built police heroine who is credited with halting the Fort Hood massacre almost died at the scene after losing half the blood in her body.
Mother of one Sergeant Kimberley Munley confronted gunman Nidal Malik Hasan and, despite being wounded in both legs, brought him down with four shots.
One of the shots cut an artery in her leg, leaving blood pumping out but she still managed to keep firing before collapsing.
Heroine: Kim Munley, a civilian police officer, is the woman who brought Hasan down by shooting him four times before he could slaughter more people.
Medic Francisco Delaserna applied a tourniquet to Sgt Munley as she drifted in and out of consciousness because of blood loss.
'I cut her trousers oopen, tied a tourniquet around her thigh and stopped the bleeding. But she had already lost a lot of blood,' he said.

Gen. Hood was a Confederate. You had it right in the second reference, but at the top say he was a US Civil War General. Probably, US is not a good term to use re civil war at all.
Yep. There have been plenty of times recently where the police would set up a cordon and wait for the shooter to run out of bullets. Columbine comes to mind.
Probably outsourced. I’ve been wondering about that myself, ever since Thursday when the rumor was going around that a “private officer” had ended the melee. We were jumping the person that used that term, but apparently that’s what these people are. And I saw an interview with the “college” this morning.
They need to rethink that. I thought officers had a responsibility to carry — you can see where it leads when they don’t.
Another question, why did she have no automatic weapons, no combat shotguns? Having to take this piece of muslin dirt down with a 9mm almost cost her her life.
Paliland. If you don’t like the term deport, call it an exile. Actually, I don’t like it because he would be killing Jews within 2 weeks. Dude needs to either be breaking up rocks, or under a bunch of them. Pronto.
I was thinking about that. We’ve been conditioned to expect it in a church more than on an army base. I bet those people felt SAFE like in a police station until they heard the rounds start popping off and the screaming mimie banshee bedhead.
I can understand outsourcing kitchens, transport, all sorts of things, but this pisses me off. Given our mode of warfare these days, we need military policemen and women, and LOTS OF THEM. I’ve thought we should open an enormous military police training college to get the cadre built as fast as possible. So, it would seem to me that one way to do it is to have a large corps of MPs on domestic bases, keeping order and getting experience before going overseas. Not hiring civilians. Out.
I’m wondering when Sgt. Munley will be brought up on hate crimes charges for pluggin a muslime.
YEah, and I liked that little girl and thought she didn’t deserve either the lionization of the media or the malicious woman-hate she received from the military and too many on this board. You got it right, she just did the best she could.
Now, this one is spunky, and apparently there’s no doubt she was pumping bullets into the perp while her BP was dropping, and her with a child at home alone.
Don’t know. Just about any rifle would be preferable.
The TODD dropped him?
That's another excellent question. Where did he train with a firearm? Especially the 5.57 mm sig I heard he was with? It shouldn't be hard to find out. How many civilian and military ranges are there in Killeen?
There was a freeper (”pop...” something) that mentioned he had seen this guy at his gun range (I think he owns it?) shooting the five-seven weeks/months before and noted it before it came out in the news. Distinct, different caliber and the scum was a pretty good shot with it.
Not sure if you can find a freeper based on part of their name or not.
Not sure if I did this right. The following was posted by “little jeremiah”:
Link to thread wherein freeper says he taught the POS at a gun class six weeks ago and saw him practicing at range with that weapon or one of the same description, freeper makes onr or two more comments about perp:

The major was a regular at a shooting range I have a partner with. He used a FN 5.7 x 28 pistol. He was at the range this weekend and was very adept at shooting targets at 100 yards.

Right. It’s just stupid, and amateurish, bush league. You can put the emphasis where you want without completely writing out half the story, which leaves you with ZERO credibility when people find you out. And people ARE findng them out, and they have no credibility. But with you, I ask, WHY? They must know this is happening, so WHY? It doens’t add up.
Whatever happened to “This is my rifle, this is my gun, one is for fighting the other’s for fun?”
HEy, if the REAL men are AWOL, a gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do.
