General George Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff, said on Sunday that he was concerned that speculation about the religious beliefs of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, accused of killing 12 fellow soldiers and one civilian and wounding 30 0thers in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers.
Ive asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that, General Casey said in an interview on CNNs State of the Union. It would be a shame as great a tragedy as this was it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well.
Seriously - I’m more worried about the non-muslim troops.
oh yeah, and Canadians
He may be concerned.
I am concerned also.
In a different way.
The general selection process is - all in all - pretty good.
However, there are always the 6-sigmas to the left selectees.
General Casey appears to be in this group.
can someone recall whether the guy who killed some fellow soldiers in the tent early in the Iraq war was a Muslim?
Anybody know?
He was a convert.
As I said...
“Remember that Franklin Roosevelt put Japanese-Americans in concentration camps while Japanese-Americans served loyally in uniform. You are effectively doing to Muslims, many of whom emigrated to get away from their Third World garbage holes, what FDR did to Japanese-Americans.”
This man has a point. We don’t want to repeat the mistakes of the past. However, I do think that professing “Muslim” members of the military need to be watched more closely. For two reasons....to look for signs of betrayal to the U.S. and to ensure they aren’t the targets of persecution.
I don’t have a link at this point, but yes he was.
Casey should be concerned about all his troops. He should let the Mohammedan troops know that if they do not shape up, they will be shipped out through Fort Leavenworth.
What's next? Juan to convert to Islam?
This starts with the Socialist-in-Chief at the top.
Paraphrasing Dreams From My Fatwa Father (or was it Audacity of Hoax)? :
"In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for I will [blow] them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
/sarc>
Cheers!
Let's start with the Congressional black caucus.
How about asking Army leaders to be on the lookout for Islamic terrorist attacks???
Wouldn't it be a shame if we had more civilian casualties?
ISN'T IT CIVILIANS THAT THE UNITED STATES ARMY IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT???
This is a bootcamp reject posing as a general...
To hell with the Muslims. What about the safety of true and real U. S. Soldiers. Wake up you stupid’s.
Here we are again, same thread.
Re: #26 “Taking the time to attempt to distinguish between murderous bastard muslims and non-murderous bastard muslims puts ones life at risk. Sorry, you lose. No muslim should be allowed near any position of power, or authority, or anything other than a room with padded walls.”
Most German-Americans served loyally in our Armed Forces during the Second World War. Their ancestors probably immigrated to get away from the Kaiser (who was not all that bad, and quite benign in comparison to the rulers of militant “Islamic” countries). There were also a few Germans who did in fact sympathize with the Nazis, e.g. the German-American Bund. We distinguished between the two groups, and we must also distinguish between the two groups that call themselves Muslims.
Put this A-hole general against a wall and shoot his traitor-to-the-troops ass.
Re: #30
“Among the Japanese who went to the internment camps were many emperor-worshippers of dubious loyalty. The many innocent suffered with a significant number of the disloyal. To put it bluntly, better that the few suffer than that the people perish. Besides, the loyal Japanese earned our lasting respect by rushing to volunteer to fight our enemies with a fierceness almost unrivaled by other regiments.”
I know they earned our respect, but FDR’s actions earned us nothing but their disrespect. I am quite frankly surprised that any volunteered after their families were put into concentration camps. There were also plenty of non-Japanese enemy sympathizers, especially the German-American Bund. We did not put German-Americans in concentration camps, and the vast majority served loyally with other Americans.
And Casey as well.
I dont’ see any dead muslim troops.
