Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America's Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
He also told colleagues at America's top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. The outburst came during an hour-long talk Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, gave on the Koran in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington DC, where he worked for six years before arriving at Fort Hood in July.
Colleagues had expected a discussion on a medical issue but were instead given an extremist interpretation of the Koran, which Hasan appeared to believe.
It was the latest in a series of "red flags" about his state of mind that have emerged since the massacre at Fort Hood, America's largest military installation, on Thursday.
Hasan, armed with two handguns including a semi-automatic pistol, walked into a processing centre for soldiers deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he killed 13 and injured more than 30.
Fellow doctors have recounted how they were repeatedly harangued by Hasan about religion and that he openly claimed to be a "Muslim first and American second."
One Army doctor who knew him said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim soldier had stopped fellow officers from filing formal complaints.
Another, Dr Val Finnell, who took a course with him in 2007 at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Maryland, did complain about Hasan's "anti-American rants." Perhaps they are able to see it when it is here in the US, but I wonder if they “speak truth to power” when they are reporting on British situations. Political correctness seems to be even worse there than here.

I was thinking the same thing.
We now have strong evidence that political correctness kills. I would like to know if any of his colleagues provided these rants to his superior officer and other military commands. These rants were clear violations of military conduct regardless of the massacre.
We are now being subjected to false claims about a Muslim backlash. When has there every been a Muslim backlash? Muslims (or anyone else) proclaiming allegiance to terrorist movements and death to non believers should be dealt with severely especially in the military.
In WWII, Japanese internment was an over reaction although paranoia was not unfounded. Today, we have the opposite situation in which terrorist rants are not regarded as credible threats. Rather, they are taken as signs that we our responsible and must change our policies.
Unfortunately our national media refuses. Therefore, we are left to our own to piece together the real truth of events.
The moment he said that he should have been arrested, put in handcuffs, and placed in a cell. However he is a member of a protected group, so he got a free pass.
Now. Imagine a Christian who says that this hate group is dangerous and should be watched closely. HE will be arrested and put in jail.
We truly live in an insane country.

The military brass at Walter Reed & at Fort Hood deliberately (with deliberation, they re-assigned this self-declared jihadist) and negligently put our troops in danger.
Hasan was their “inconvenience” and our troops assassin.
Didn’t giving aid and comfort to, or consorting with the enemy used to be a crime? The brass knowingly put an enemy in the midst of our troops. How else can you look at it?

You are right.If he had attended a Christian church and he attended a daily bible study they would be busy reporting how a fundamentalist Christian had killed them because of his faith.
