It would be appropriate to let him know how much we appreciate his vote. Not for the value of the vote, but because he gave the Dhims cover to say that it was "bipartisan."
Do u really think that will help them? The sad truth is this:
The only people that will fall for that propaganda are the same people, when polled, believe the Republicans run and have a majority in Congress. Those people aren't EVER going to vote Republican.
On top of that, running around and bragging about this bill being bipartisan will only anger people in the know. In fact, it will probably push some conservative Dems into Republican hands because of their insincerity.
And on top of all that: how many people do you think really care about "bipartisanship" when it comes to their healthcare? Most people only care about how it effects them and their family. Anybody that actually gets swayed to support this healthcare thing because of one word, "bipartisanship", are losers that really don't matter- and will never support anything conservative to begin with.
>>At the right time, Ill send my money in to defeat the treasonous jerk.<<
Don’t waste your money. It’s 99.999% likely that a leftwing Dhimmi from the “chocolate” part of Ray Nagin’s “chocolate city” will defeat him in 2010, no matter how much money either Cao or his opponent might have.
>> If we had NY-23 and did not have this clown - it probably would not have passed <<
If you really think that, then your understanding of Pelosi’s operational style is naive in the extreme.
Actually Dede opposed the public option.
That’s what she said BEFORE the election. I’ll bet your paycheck she’d have changed her mind just like Owens in NY23 did and voted for it, PO or not..
That is what we were told Thursday and what I was told by one of the republican staffers when I was making calls yesterday.
So Snowejob, Sphincter and SuziQ Collins voted for the Porkulus bill making it "bi-partisan" and Snowejob (or was it Collins-I get them confused) just voted with the rats for something recently, IIRC, to help the rats look inclusive and now this!
Sad, because the House has been doing an excellent job voting as a block.
Cao is political toast. He realizes that, right?
EXACTLY!!! That is what I tell all of them when I'm calling, like yesterday. When I was asked if I where I lived I would say the United States of America! One snippy little bitch said, well good for you, then hung up on me.
Ding...Ding...Ding...We have a winner!
Affording you the opportunity to come here and enslave mine.
Thanks for your service and welcome home.
However, it has been a very long and frustrating week for all of those paying attention. Sometimes we need to let off a little steam.
Understanding the idea of voting the wishes of his constituents, the problem is not of representation as much as constitutionality.
The government takeover of our health care system is unconstitutional, period! To vote the alleged wishes of 638,562 scum sucking leeches while selling 330,000,000 into communism cannot be justified, IMHO.
The Oath of Office for all members of Congress states:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
No where in that oath does it say they are to support their constituents rather than the Constitution. Being on record to enslave the country into communism is never a good thing.

now is the time for a real, Reagan republican to announce his candidacy for this fool’s seat. where do I send money?
Which part is unnecessary? And how do you know it is unnecessary?
NO, the people of New Orleans were pre-committed to removing Cao even before he took office. He is like the IL fellow, Michael Flanagan, who in 1995 replaced the popular Dan Rostenkowski for one term. IL couldn’t wait to bring in Blago for that seat.
Justa, I’m surprised every ER in the USA wasn’t overflowing last night, with so many people’s blood pressure thru the roof. The only salvation is that it will be somewhat harder to pass in the Senate unless Reid goes thru with his nuke option.
If it passes both chambers and gets signed by The One, there is ‘10 and ultimately the SCOTUS because it is on many levels unconstitutional. I am a little hesitant to put too much faith in SCOTUS after McCain-Feingold, but on the other hand, they did overturn the term limits act. This was one battle in a war that is FAR from over. So we shall see.
My point was that going after Cao, who represents one of the highest-density minority districts in the country (and whose election itself was a fluke), for voting on a bill his constituents want is a waste of energy and bandwidth. There are bigger fish to fry.
Typo, no typo I know what you meant and I am with you!
The promises were from the top. He skipped over Pelousy. His statement is up-thread.
Cao wrote he obtained commitment from President Obama that he would work together to address the health care issues of Louisiana
"As Vietnamese American I am utterly ashamed by Cao's vote. He betrays the country that gave him a second chance, he brings nothing but shame on us VA. I struggle with words to describe my awful feeling, I am very very angry. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pelosi camp went under the table to corrupt and buy Cao's vote. Im not in his district but he'll write him to go back to Vietnam, we dont want you here."
Cao wouldn’t break 40% in that 75% Democrat district whether he voted for or against Obamacare. He’s delusional if he thinks that his cowardly vote will help him get reelected in the LA-02, and he’s just about killed any chance of getting elected statewide (although if he votes against final passage after Obamacare comes back from conference if the Senate ever passes it then perhaps he can salvage his political future).
As another FReeper said, he’s now Joe Cao-ward. We need to let him know the error of his ways so that he votes against Obamacare if and when it comes back from conference.
agree with all of that, well said
