BBC interview by Gavin Lee with a member of the Killeen, Texas mosque outside Ft Hood, the Islamic Community Center of Greater Killeen, where Malik Nidal Hasan was currently attending. In the interview, http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00nrvhp#p0051bjj mosque member "Duane" not only refuses to condemn Hasan, but justifies their murder because "they were troops who were going to Afghanistan and Iraq to kill Muslims".
Duane : "I'm not going to condemn him for what he did. I don't know why he did it. I will not, absolutely not, condemn him for what he had done though. If he had done it for selfish reasons I still will not condemn him. He's my brother in the end. I will never condemn him."
Gavin Lee : There might be a lot of people shocked to hear you say that.
Duane: "Well, that's the way it is. I don't speak for the community here but me personally I will not condemn him."
Gavin Lee : What are your thoughts towards those that were victims in this?
Duane : "They were, in the end, they were troops who were going to Afghanistan and Iraq to kill Muslims. I honestly have no pity for them. It's just like the majority of the people that will hear this, after five or six minutes they'll be shocked, after that they'll forget about them and go on their day."
Over at Biased BBC they wonder whether this is the same Duane Reasoner quoted today by the New York Times:
Duane Reasoner Jr., an 18-year-old substitute teacher whose parents worked at Fort Hood, said Major Hassan was told he would be sent to Afghanistan on Nov. 28, and he did not like it.
He said he should quit the Army, Mr. Reasoner said. In the Koran, youre not supposed to have alliances with Jews or Christian or others, and if you are killed in the military fighting against Muslims, you will go to hell.
Reasoner was also interviewed by Stars & Stripes:
Just last week, Hasan expressed views that Muslims shouldn't serve in the military and fight other Muslims, according to Duane Reasoner Jr., a recent Muslim convert who had been having dinner regularly with Hasan.
Hasan had taken 18-year-old Reasoner under his wing, mentoring him in his new faith. After evening prayers he would often buy a fish dinner for Reasoner and sometimes the iman at the Golden Corral, a chain buffet restaurant. Besides mentioning that he prayed for a wife, the conversation almost never strayed from religion, Reasoner said, describing Hasan as warm and caring.
Looks like Hasan has left some disciples to continue his work at Ft Hood.
Whether it's Hasan who is praying for a wife or Reasoner, and this typically illiterate reporter couldn't make that clear, it would take a miracle for either of them to find a willing woman in this country. Real American women shoot down dogs like Hasan, they don't knowingly marry evil losers. As for Reasoner, a Texas girl might spare a moment to spit on him, as he richly deserves, but that's about all the attention he's going to get in this country after endorsing mass murder.
That too, but the military is a good place to start and get the ball rolling.
The odds will improve once we have leaders who see that Islam is not a religion.
I think we need to round up this little muzzie homie. And axe him some questions.
Excellent quote to live by. Appreciate your post.
Milk Dud Muzzie?
He looks like a hairy Reasoner.
The British press: reporting the news the American media is afraid or unwilling to report.
The rest of the World must think we’re a bunch of nuts. We refuse to face the reason why this guy went on his killing spree, even though it’s staring us in the face.
How many thousands are there like him out there?
We have quite a few mosques here these days, yaknow.
“...muslims should not be allowed into the US military.”
.
If they cannot serve in the US military because we distrust them, they should not be allowed into the country at all. Our Armed Forces are an integral part of our society.
It is not possible to separate our military from the rest of the country and we will be a more cohesive nation without the presence of muslims. National survival of America with Islam in its midst is highly doubtful and co-existence with it has never been a reality.
The answer is staring the country in its face.
exactly, “compassion fatigue” is the biggest insult to this country and troops they could come up with from this instance. Then there is the “Health Care Reform” bill.
Agree. I think this is the answer too....Islam is NOT a religion, and I leave it to the readers to say what it really is.
Good one!
“Muslims should not be allowed into the US military’’. Muslims shouldn’t be allowed into the US. Period. Muslims and their ideology are totaly incompatible with Western Civilization. Muslims belong in Western socities like polar bears belong in the Amazon.
Those camps from WWII aren’t looking so bad now.
This Duane guy was being truthful, and honest, and he was correct in the second part of his statement. Shame on us.
We disbelieve people like him at our own peril.
Gotta wonder if Hasan had some sexual-preference issues.
Again, on the right.
Nah....in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter does it?
