Welcome home, Marine. May your days be blessed and prosperous. Sorry about the lousy administration and congress. We can change that and will.
My pop was a proud Marine, too, and a war hero. He was a paratrooper and also landed at Green Beach (Iwo Jima) day one and survived to fight the entire hellish month. Here’s how he dealt with civilian life:
He created a big loving family with eight kids, a big rambling house full of music and parties, hard work and fresh air, USMC discipline where needed and a quiet hug where needed, a bunch of grandkids and great grandkids and he hosted great July 4th parties with patriotic speeches and a flag ceremony by people in swimsuits. He lived BIG and didn’t ask permission, he enjoyed the freedoms he fought for, and reminded us of our fragile inheritance (freedom).
You may want to change the details, but you get the idea. Cut a wide swath through life, befitting a Marine.
Welcome home hollywood, thanks for your service
I may be a civilian, but even I know you refer to a Marine as a Marine.
Welcome home Marine, and thank you!
