Nidal Malik Hasan, Suspected Fort Hood Shooter, Was Called "Camel Jockey"
ABC News ^ | 11/6/2009 | Brian Ross

Posted on 11/06/2009 8:12:02 AM PST by Saije

Fort Hood shooting suspect, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, wanted out of the Army after being constantly harassed by others in the military and was called a "camel jockey," his family said.

As Hasan was about to be deployed to Iraq, he was suffering from some of the same stresses that he was trained as an Army psychiatrist to treat.

Although the 39-year-old had just been promoted to major in May, his family says he had hired a lawyer to help him get out of the Armed Forces.

"Apparently became very disgruntled in the mission in Iraq and Afghanistan and voiced that to a lot of his colleagues," said Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX).

He also voiced it to the world in an Internet posting, where he compared suicide bombers to GI's who save their colleagues by throwing themselves on a grenade.

"Just keep in mind mass killers pretty much know they want to die and they tend to take as many people with them as they can in a shooting," said former FBI agent and ABC News consultant Brad Garrett, who also believes Hasan didn't want to survive the Ft. Hood shooting.

"It is one of those things where he went and wanted to kill a lot of people and commit suicide maybe in his own mind that he's saving peoples' lives," said Garrett. "As illogical as that sounds, in his mind, that would be quite logical."

Hasan is an American citizen of Palestinian descent and after the 9/11 attacks, his cousin says he was the target of constant harassment from others in the military. His tormentors called him a "camel jockey," said his cousin, Nader Hasan. He wanted out of the Army, so he paid back his military student loans and hired an attorney.

My mommy told me anything that doesn't kill me only makes me stronger...and I'm a girl.

Are these guys saying this guy was a Muslim emotional wimp?

He killed a pregnant soldier who didn't call him anything. No sympathy. Sorry...not happening.

That’s all BS. The military is too quick to discipline those that use racial smeers. My son was disgusted by the way that the slightist comment could lead to discipline when you were dealing with any of the minorities. They were a protected class in the military. And as for an Ossifer actually getting this kind of comment from his peers..don’t believe it.

they can call him "Mat" if he's at the door.

Call him "Stew" if he's in the hot tub.

call him "Art" if we hang him on the wall. ....

“Camel Jockey” is not abuse.

Thank God no one ever called him a "goat herder".

Indeed. Like a lot of posters on this thread, I doubt very seriously that anyone ever said it. I just simply don't care if they did. And, for the LSM to go this direction with the story is retarded and irresponsible.

Nonsense, this is pure balderdash. It's no surprise that the US is going to be called an intolerant and bigoted nation so that this piece of Islamist scum gets a pass for the horrors he's inflicted on so many victims and their families.

EMs and other officers do not go around calling an O-4 a Camel jockey. And if they did there are many remedies in our PC military to take care of this matter without resorting to mass murder. Of course, convincing liberals that this nut wasn't taunted into this will be hard. They'll also play up his loathing of doing a deployment to undermine the war effort, as if everyone is about to go postal rather than do their duty.

"Here comes the finger pointing. Watch Obama pardon the terrorist from the death penalty."

OBAMA is on shaky enough ground with the rank and file of our (fighting) military to do that.

The only part of the military he attracts are the self serving lapdogs among the Brass and some African Americans who think like Shoshona Johnson. I saw her on the Larry King with that Sorry sack of $HIT, DR. PHIL discussing this incident with a real Veteran of the IRAQ WAR.

The are MUSLIMES! They will lie to every Infidel. They have learned to work the system just like every other minority with a “grievance”.
The principle of Al-Takeyya

“The Arabic word, “Takeyya”, means “to prevent,” or guard against. The principle of Al Takeyya conveys the understanding that Muslims are permitted to lie as a preventive measure against anticipated harm to one’s self or fellow Muslims. This principle gives Muslims the liberty to lie under circumstances that they perceive as life threatening. They can even deny the faith, if they do not mean it in their hearts. Al-Takeyya is based on the following Quranic verse:

“Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution (prevention), that ye may Guard yourselves from them (prevent them from harming you.) But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.” Surah 3: 28

According to this verse a Muslim can pretend to befriend infidels (in violation of the teachings of Islam) and display adherence with their unbelief to prevent them from harming him.

Under the concept of Takeyya and short of killing another human being, if under the threat of force, it is legitimate for Muslims to act contrary to their faith. The following actions are acceptable:

* Drink wine, abandon prayers, and skip fasting during Ramadan.
* Renounce belief in Allah.
* Kneel in homage to a deity other than Allah.
* Utter insincere oaths.

The implications of the principle of Al-Takeyya

Unfortunately, when dealing with Muslims, one must keep in mind that Muslims can communicate something with apparent sincerity, when in reality they may have just the opposite agenda in their hearts. Bluntly stated, Islam permits Muslims to lie anytime that they perceive that their own well-being, or that of Islam, is threatened.

In the sphere of international politics, the question is: Can Muslim countries be trusted to keep their end of the agreements that they sign with non-Muslim nations? It is a known Islamic practice, that when Muslims are weak they can agree with most anything. Once they become strong, then they negate what they formerly vowed.

The principle of sanctioning lying for the cause of Islam bears grave implications in matters relating to the spread of the religion of Islam in the West. Muslim activists employ deceptive tactics in their attempts to polish Islam’s image and make it more attractive to prospective converts. They carefully try to avoid, obscure, and omit mentioning any of the negative Islamic texts and teachings.

An example of Islamic deception is that Muslim activists always quote the passages of the Quran from the early part of Mohammed’s ministry while living in Mecca. These texts are peaceful and exemplify tolerance towards those that are not followers of Islam. All the while, they are fully aware that most of these passages were abrogated (cancelled and replaced) by passages that came after he migrated to Medina. The replacement verses reflect prejudice, intolerance, and endorse violence upon unbelievers

In conclusion, it is imperative to understand, that Muslim leaders can use this loop-hole in their religion, to absolve them from any permanent commitment. It is also important to know that what Muslim activists say to spread Islam may not always be the whole truth. When dealing with Muslims, what they say is not the issue. The real issue is, what they actually mean in their hearts.

OMG!! I was called a "Bead Rattler".....I can't remeber SHOOTING anyone.....or even getting mad!!
Back when we weren't allowed to eat meat on Friday, I was a "mackerel snapper".
I thought it was pretty strange since we never ate mackerel.
I remember eating tons of macaroni and cheese, or tuna noodle casserole, but not mackerel.
Deep fried shrimp was GOOD, but we couldn't afford that very often, so maybe Mom cooked a plain cheese pizza sometimes or maybe meatless spaghetti.

no one talked like that to a Maj.

Bingo. No one talks like that to an officer, especially an officer equal to or better than a Captain, let alone a Major. That is, unless they have a yearning for a Court Martial and spending time in the Brig.

Every military person I saw on tv the last two days says there is no way an enlisted man would harass an officer, no matter his religion or anything else. This is just excuse making on the part of his family.

Stories coming out now about how fervently muslim he was, and trying to push his religion on his patients.

The fact the gov’t knew about the guy and did not even launch an investigation tells you all you need to know about our politically correct environment. I wonder if any of Obama’s people in charge of the military have changed policies regarding investigatin un american behavior by members of the military?

Hey look......grade school is tough, middle school it tough, high school is tough, the military is tough. Name calling happens all the time. When our military sees its soldiers being killed by people of the middle east, what else would you expect? Political Correctnes does not belong in the military. People need to get real.
