WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Associated Press is reporting that a source has told them the shooting suspect in Thursday's attacks on the Fort Hood Army Post in Texas is Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, an Army mental health professional.
The attacks on Ft. Hood left 12 people dead and 31 wounded. Authorities killed the gunman, who is said to be Hasan, and apprehended two other soldiers suspected in the attack.
According to the AP, a defense official said Hasan was a mental health professionaleither an Army psychologist or psychiatrist. It's not known if he was treating people at the post.
The AP said that officials are trying to determine if Hasan was his birth name, or if he converted to the Islamic faith at some point in his life. He was believed to have been in his late 30s.
FOX News reports the soldier who was the gunman in the attacks is from Virginia, but they have not confirmed his name. They also report that the shooter was not happy about the prospect of being deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.
According to Lt. Gen. Bob Cone at Fort Hood, the shooter used two handguns in the attacks at the Soldier Readiness Center on Thursday around 1:30 CDT. The gunman was then shot and killed by a civilian policeman.
THIS IS NOT HIM! LET’S BE VIGILANT ABOUT IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT PERP. THIS IS NOT HIM.
I think we will find that he planned this for a long time. This was no ‘sudden’ act imho.
The enemy within. They can't handle the truth.
The Al Queda loving media/obozo regime will be hiding the truth from this one. Mooselip killing soldiers, no dots to connect here.
Pray for America and Our Troops
The SRM have been saying he was a recent convert to Islam.
Whether it is fair or not to all Muslims serving in the military, the fact is that we cannot trust Muslims with Middle East connections. The military is not about being fair, it is about protecting our country by fighting if necessary. You cannot have people serving in the military wondering whether their brother in arms is a friend or a foe. Trust is essential, and it is impossible to trust any Muslim.
Not sure this is the same guy.
We’re looking for a Malik Nadal Hasan from VA. Lubbock is about 150 miles away from Waco and Ft Hood. Not sure why he’d put Lubbock as his location if he’s from VA.
Lubbock is a very long way from Fort Hood, if I am using MapQuest correctly.
(341 miles)
341 miles.
CNN corrected the name, it is Nidal Malik Hassan.
I'd bet on it. And all the more reason to purge them form the military, for you can never be reasonably sure that they won't experience "sudden jihad syndrome" since it is by definition unpredictable. Logically the threat, once detected, must be eliminated. Sort of like cutting out a benign cancer, rather than observing it and hoping it doesn't metastasize.
A good friend of Zero???
The head health worker at Birmingham Alabama VA Hospital is a muslim who refused to stand when the flag was raised at Bessemer clinic granhd opening a few years ago. Why do we tolerate this in our country?
Thanks. I stand corrected...it’s been awhile since I’ve been in down that way.
All Muslims in US Military service need to be given convenience of the government discharges, immediately.
Since there is no way we can tell which Muslim is going to suddenly freak out and turn Jihadi on us, and since by their beliefs, there duty to Jihad supersedes any oaths they swear, they simply cannot be trusted.
This is a plain fact of life.
I would go even further and say that all Muslims in US Government service — in any capacity — should be fired.
Excellent! Thanks!
See my posr #35...
What has his faith/religion have to do with anything? If his name was Mungden, would they be trying to figure out when he took up Christianity? /s
