While the Lions left long ago, it appears former employees have continued to sack the Pontiac Silverdome..(snip)..Kissick told the Press former employees have taken home leather couches, television sets, granite counter tops and more. He's under investigation too, he said, because he's reported such thefts in recent years.
“They took tools, equipment furnishing, everything they could get their hands on. Then they went into the super suites and began dismantling them. Security called me and I told them I wasn’t there anymore and that they needed to call downtown.”

Sounds like the Silverdome got off easy compared to the schools which Detroit chose to abandon. There was a video awhile back on what happened to them, generally within hours of the school being abandoned. It was nauseating.
It gave me the firm idea that you could probably trade a truckload of crack for most of the city.
But then you'd be like a dog who finally caught a car. What would you do with it?

Well there was no post-championship rioting for the Lions, so they decided to just rob the team. I guess it’s fair, their ticket holders have been robbed for years. The Lions promised to field a professional football team and didn’t live up to their end of the bargain.

LOL. Reminds me of that scene in ‘Lord of War’ with Nicolas Cage where he has to land his gun running cargo plane on some rural road in Africa to avoid the UN inspector....dismantled and gone in just a few hours.
