Cold War: The White House has announced our absence at ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Meanwhile, Russia has been practicing a nuclear invasion of an abandoned Poland.
The Berlin Wall has been a famous backdrop for American presidents sounding the battle cry of liberty in the struggle against tyranny. It was there that John F. Kennedy expressed our solidarity with the encircled residents of that outpost of freedom with his famous "Ich bin ein Berliner." And it was there that Ronald Reagan, with a defiant "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall," voiced our determination not to merely contain or get along with Soviet Communism, but to defeat it.
On Nov. 9, 1989, the people of Berlin did just that, secure in the knowledge that an economically and militarily revived America had their back. But that was then and this is now.
Today, American leaders travel the world expressing their regrets for our alleged past transgressions, and American exceptionalism is no longer part of our vocabulary. We're just another one of the gang, sandwiched alphabetically between Uganda and Upper Volta, whose votes cancel ours in an international community to which we pledge our fealty.

There's an easy fix for that - we can appease foreign nations' derision of all things American by not coming to their aid the next time. We can be just like the other countries they want us to be by turning our backs on them the next time Europe or Asia, or some Islamic country needs help and simply explain, "sorry, we're re-arranging our collective sock drawers this year and simply can't be bothered coming to free your sorry a$$ from whatever tyrant has taken you over."
I'll bet the rest of the world will REALLY love us then!!!
As for those "leaders" who feel the need to apologize to the rest of the world for who/what we are, there's a place saved in an unemployment line for them in the VERY near future!!!

Having seen your post, it reminds me that this is exactly what Charles DeGaulle did in France after we helped liberate France from the Nazis. He was so jealous of America and American influence in France, he threw us all out of France and forced us to abandon the few military bases we had their to protect France while they rebuilt!!!
He couldn't stand the fact that most French credited Eisnhower and America with freeing them from Hitler.

Obama, like many leftists, does not believe that the fall of European communism was a good thing. The Left is no doubt happy that Obama isn’t going to show.
Obama can’t afford to tick off the neo-Soviets in the Kremlin. He wants to have tea with Putin and Medviev on a daily basis (and lick their boots), and even a few rounds of Golf. And a discussion on Leninist politics for good measure.
This is sick. Obama is ONLY skipping going to the wall so he can appease the monsters in the Kremlin.
