From one of my readers in Newark:
"Figured I'd shoot you an update before the after-work rush. There has been a slight uptick in in turnout, but the biggest uptick is number of unions guys out there. The streets of Newark are crawling with people in SEIU purple shirts. They are near polling places, placing campaign lit on cars, and all the kind of stuff. Big labor is heavily invested in a Corzine win and Corzine is dependent upon them for his GOTV so it is not surprising to us that they are out there, just that it took them this long."
The Essex campaign HQ has more workers then I have ever seen before, which includes 2008 and 2005. Everyone is fired up because they heard Rudy and other GOP heavy hitters are in NJ and which never happens. PolitickerNJ reports that Newark's North Ward and the South Ward are each reporting about 4,000 votes. They quote Rep. Donald Payne, a local Democrat, as saying it should be enough for a "narrow victory."
“Not going to happen Corzine pulls this off. 55 for Corzine on intrade. That freakin sux.”
I’ve predicted for months the margin in Corzine’s favor will be 6-8%. I hope like hell I’m wrong, but I don’t think I will be.
I feel that door swings both ways.
All is fair in love and war.
low turnout is a GOOD sign
Well the good news is you’re likely wrong. Exit polling shows it dead even at 47% apiece. The bad news is with those numbers you just know Corzine’s shot is better than 50/50.
Christie on Hannity said they were prepared for fraud and he wasn’t worried about it.. that he had prosecutors, lawyers, observers a’plenty and were countering problems successfully.
GOTV is critical in tight races. I hope Christie’s is as strong as Corzine.
The fraud area I worry about is the Absentee.
Don’t worry the Obama Justice Department will keep it straight. < /sarcasm>
I wonder if video proof will matter? After the DOJ throwing the case of the Philadelphia Black Panthers', blatant voter intimidation outside of a polling place, the dems may feel they can do almost anything.
I’d have no problem if they went on their own way, if the north east wants their liberal utopia then so be it.
Least we can get on having a decent country, do what we like and not have Govt telling us or forcing us to accept a load of crap
Blue states should be written off with the 10th Amnedment. If they are corrupt and cannot hold fair elections it is time to break up the Republic.
We need the 10th Amendment to tell them we are not paying our taxes for their utopia. This BS of a state like NJ with 10% state tax deductible from their federal tax is garbage.
I looked about 3 minutes ago. It was Christie over Corzine by one point (53-52).
Could be reaction to rumors. Also could be manipulation.
It’s the Democratic Mafia at work - SEIU, ACORN, all the usual neo-Marxist gang.
I noticed you love to spread doom and gloom. What are your motives?
I thought that was against the law to be in voting areas.
“I hope like hell Im wrong, but I dont think I will be.”
You’re wrong.
The Obama Justice Department would never give a damn about vote fraud. It’s entirely up to conservatives and independents to be diligent about it.
I hear you.
Why should I down here be paying for MA construction which cost billions and was a back hander to unions up there.
I am just fed up of them coming down here saying how they left their state because of things like taxes but then vote for the same party down here which gave them high taxes up there .
O and their driving and pompous attitude needs sorting out too(smiles)
Interesting how we are not seeing the MSM minute by minute exit polling going on today! I guess weâll just have to be suprized!
For the same reason the coal miners union backed Al Gore. Yeah, they did that.
