There are two kinds of pedophilia, homosexual, in which the victim is of the same gender as the perpetrator, and heterosexual, in which the victim is of the opposite gender. The effect is the same, an individual with greater powers in every way (power of will, persuasion, economic power, recognized authority) imposes conditions, sometimes forcibly, sometimes by guile, on the helpless victim, and brings shame and humiliation to the victim. That only changes a little bit when the perpetrator/victim dyad are much closer in parity on the balance of power, i.e., social status, age, economic standing. There is still the feeling of shared wrongness, which successful sociopaths are much more adept as suppressing than more balanced persons.
