Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday he would have preferred to leave the White House in a coffin because he loved being commander in chief, but signaled his political life is over.
"It's good that we have a (term) limit. Otherwise I would have stayed until I was carried away in a coffin. Or defeated in an election," Clinton said at a conference in Istanbul. "I loved doing the job."

...and yet, we would trade him for Obummer in a NY minute.
It was always PAHTY time for Bill. The only “job” he was doing...well, decency does not permit me to go further...
Therefore, the American people have wisely established a custom against allowing any man to hold that office for more than two consecutive terms. But every shred of power which a President exercises while in office vanishes absolutely when he has once left office. An ex-President stands precisely in the position of any other private citizen, and has not one particle more power to secure a nomination or election than if he had never held office at all, indeed, he probably has less because of the very fact that he has held the office. - Theodore Roosevelt
I always said that Clinton would rule forever if he could. Thank GOD for term limits!!
What a coincidence....
“I loved doing the job.”
Depends on what “the job” means. Didn’t we learn to guess the meaning of words with him?
As long as Clinton would have had a Republican Congress he would have won. Bush wouldn’t have stood a chance. Thing is though, Republicans would have lost Congress, and Clinton would have been ousted the next election cycle. People forget that two years into his first administration, Clinton would have lost miserably. Republicans saved him. We can’t let the same thing happen with Obamao. He and the commie lizards around him have no intention of relinquishing power, elections or no elections. We have to toss him out in 2012.
What a shame!
Given the flap about Zero and the coffin photo-op, Clinton’s comments are in insanely bad taste.
Yep. Ain’t touching that line.
“When you wish upon a star”.................
sad to say it is true- Obummer is stampeding towards socialism at a speed that must make even HilLIARy blush
I think his favorite part of the job was meeting people and giving speeches.
I went to a party after he had his heart surgery and was promoting his book.
All I could think was “This guy is an amazing salesman!”.
Don't care for his politics, even if they were moderate and he co-opted the Republican success's.
Moreover, I didn't like him as a man and what he stood for, as a caricature, in relation to women.
It was always PAHTY time for Bill. The only job he was doing...well, decency does not permit me to go further...<<<<<<<<
Agree, and Monica was certainly a diversion from his duties, but at least I didn’t feel I had to be on red alert 24/7 like I do now with Obama. The Clinton’s weren’t so good at trying to impose the path to Marxism. Obama and his minions are trying to sneak things in over the transom, through the cracks in the door, etc.
Clinton is nuts but that headline is misleading.
“Otherwise I would have stayed until I was carried away in a coffin.”
It’s just a saying. For example: Free ice cream! I’ll never leave. They’ll have to carry me out it a coffin.
Ancient Greek proverb: “Tyranny is a fair winding-sheet” (i.e., shroud). Theodora used it to get Justinian to stay and fight it out during the Nika Revolt rather than flee from Constantinople.
Drugs. He is on drugs...
My mom has, on occasion, made similar comments. I still can’t quite wrap my mind around that.
Could we trade him for Favre instead?
Erected for life?
That’s some erection.
When weren't Clinton's comments in insanely bad taste?
