Obama Funder Jodie Evans Calls for Kidnapping of George and Laura Bush
Big Government ^ | Monday, November 2, 2009 | Kristinn Taylor and Andrea Shea King

Posted on 11/02/2009 8:22:04 AM PST by kristinn

One of President Barack Obama’s top funders, Code Pink’s Jodie Evans, is encouraging the kidnapping of former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura, according to new statements issued this week by Jodie Evans and Code Pink.

While it might be tempting to look at this latest effort by Code Pink as an innocuous publicity campaign, Code Pink’s history of working with state sponsors of terrorism and supporting violent protest against President Bush–and their near successful arrest of then-Attorney General Alberto Gonzales–is cause for concern.

Two weeks after meeting Obama at a high dollar fundraiser in San Francisco, Jodie Evans and Code Pink issued a call to action urging vigilantism against President Bush:

When Jodie Evans delivered the voices of Afghan women to President Obama, she was also delivering a demand for accountability. The women of Afghanistan are calling for accountability from the US as well as from the corrupt Afghan leaders that our government supports. How can we have true peace or justice if our leadership doesn’t own up to the devastation they have wrought?

…You can also use our website to track where the war criminals will be and how to do a citizen’s arrest action! Let Bush’s “motivational speaking tour” motivate you to arrest the war criminal!

…With your $10 donation you will receive a gift of our newest War Criminals playing cards–we hope the cards educate you and inspire you to grab a set of pink handcuffs and go make a citizen’s arrest, yourself. Our “how-to-arrest-a-war-criminal” guide is included!

Thank you for helping to hold these war criminals accountable!

Slapping the cuffs on for peace,

Dana, Emily, Farida, Gael, Gayle, Janet, Jodie, Marina, Medea, Nancy, Paris, Rae, Suzanne, and Whitney

The actions being urged and guided by Jodie Evans and Code Pink could result in federal kidnapping charges against someone who takes up their call for vigilantism–or their death as the Bushes still have Secret Service protection.

Jodie Evans and Code Pink have published a how-to guide at their Code Pink website for conducting citizens arrests of the Bushes and former Bush administration officials over their policies defending the United States after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Jodie Evans and Code Pink provide advice on how to stalk, arrest and choose what state, federal or international criminal charges to make against Bush, his wife and others.

A War Criminal Watch Calendar is published by Jodie Evans and Code Pink with up to the minute information on where to find Code Pink’s targets. Currently on the calendar is where to find Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Colin Powell at two Florida speaking engagements in early November.

President Bush is being targeted at a December speaking engagement in Texas.

Jodie Evans and Code Pink also explicitly call for the vigilante citizens arrest of former Vice President Richard B. Cheney:

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Tell Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate War Crimes

Arrest Dick Cheney

Know where Dick is going to be? Send us a tip! (The tip line is an e-mail address: warcrimetips at codepinkalert.org)

Bush and Cheney are included on Code Pink’s 10 Most Wanted War Criminals list along with former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

The Washington Post reported on the attempt on Gonzales:

Diane Wilson comes over to talk about her morning at the Gonzales breakfast. She’s a former shrimper, an environmental activist and a fifth-generation resident of the tiny town of Seadrift, Tex.

“The plan was to handcuff myself to Gonzales,” Wilson says. But security came around asking for her ticket and she figured she’d get kicked out shortly, so under pretense of looking in her purse, she handcuffed herself to her chair.

“They started jerking me and I was jerking the chair between us,” she says. Finally, the handcuffs broke. Cheap pair, Wilson says. If she’d had her other handcuffs with her, that wouldn’t have happened.

Liberals in the media have been calling on Republican leaders to dial down their rhetoric and have accused conservatives of causing a rise in threats against Barack Obama.

Will those same liberals call on Barack Obama to renounce Jodie Evans and demand Code Pink stop threatening President Bush, Laura Bush and former Bush administration officials before someone gets hurt?

Jodie Evans and Code Pink urge people to call Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder. They even threaten to do Holder’s job:

It is high-time for some high-crime accountability and if the Attorney General won’t do it we have cuffs and we aren’t afraid to use them!

Code Pink provides a phone number for General Holder: 202 514-2001.

Please call him and ask that Code Pink be investigated for threatening President and Mrs. Bush, Vice President Cheney and others.

All of their "top 10 war criminals" are former members of the Bush administration. The rest of the world has no war criminals of note.

I wonder how much control Obama has over the level of protection Bush and Cheney get now. If fanatics listen to Code Pink and a chance to make an attempt on Bush's life, or any of the other targets, will the Obama administration bear any responsibility?

"They really have no life without Bush, do they?"

Their slogan should now be, "Rebels without a cause".

The amount of attention-starved people in this country astounds me.

These ongoing photo-oop crusades to protest something that has already happened, are in a word...stupid.

It's too late to have a beef with George Bush, he's not in charge anymore. He couldn't change anything, even if they could talk him into it. He is no longer President.

Maybe if these rotund ladies would attend church regularly, they might get to sing in the choir, thus garnering the attention they seem to crave.

Maybe we should protest bill clinton for desecrating the Oval Office, and sexual harassment to Monica...but then, it's too late for that too.

I don't think Code Pink gets it...not regularly anyway.

These people are such kook crackpots, it's hard to believe that anyone from any end of the political spectrum would ever associate with them.

They are so weird, like Mata Hari w-e-i-r-d that I won't be surprised if future historians will discover that they are all deep deep deep cover CIA.

Code Pink’s “Sugar Mommy” – Jodie Evans

Jodie Evans is a radical activist and Democratic fundraiser best known as the co-founder (along with Diane Wilson, a Wiccan calling herself Starhawk, and Global Exchange’s Medea Benjamin) of Code Pink for Peace. Evans also works closely with Leslie Cagan, the pro-Castro leader of United For Peace and Justice.

From 1973 to 1982, Evans worked in administrative capacities in the political campaigns of Jerry Brown, who during those years served as California’s Secretary of State and then Governor. She also held a cabinet post as Governor Brown’s Director of Administration.

In 1990 Evans partnered with Tom Hayden and Cathryn Tiddens to open an environmental department store, Terra Verde, in Santa Monica, California.

In 1991 Evans ran Jerry Brown’s presidential campaign. She also produced the radio program We the People with Jerry Brown, a daily leftwing talk show. From 1994 to 1998, she produced the documentary film Stripped and Teased: Tales of Las Vegas Women…

Over the years, Evans has supported such activist groups as Citizen Action, Neighbor to Neighbor, the Earth Island Institute, the Interfaith Task Force on Central America, the International Overseas Education Fund, and the Los Angeles Women’s Foundation.

Evans is currently a Board of Directors member for the Rainforest Action Network (RAN), a coalition of anti-capitalist, anti-corporate environmentalist groups. RAN’s co-founder Michael Roselle also founded the Earth Liberation Front, which the FBI ranks alongside the Animal Liberation Front as the foremost domestic terrorism threats in the United States. According to the FBI, during the past seven years those two groups have been responsible for more than 600 criminal acts and $43 million in damages…

In addition to her Code Pink duties, Jodie Evans also sits on the advisory board of the International Occupation Watch (IOW) center in Iraq, which Code Pink helped establish. The organizers of Occupation Watch — Medea Benjamin and Leslie Cagan — explicitly declared their purpose in setting up headquarters in Baghdad was [to] thin U.S. forces by getting soldiers to declare themselves conscientious objectors.

As a far leftist, Evans has found a comfortable political home in the Democratic Party. Indeed she was a key fundraiser for her longtime friend and political ally, former California governor Gray Davis. Evans’ ex-husband, Westside financier Max Palevsky, actually appointed Davis to his first political job as the fundraiser for Tom Bradley’s 1973 Los Angeles mayoral campaign…

In the weeks preceding the recent California governor’s recall election, Evans was instrumental in convincing several women to come forward and tell the L.A. Times their allegations against Arnold Schwarzenegger. Moreover, she helped organize picketing sessions in front of Schwarzenegger’s campaign headquarters…

Ms. Evans is a very rich and powerful woman, thanks largely to her divorce settlement from the billionaire capitalist Max Palevsky in “common property” California.

On June 24, CODEPINK co-founder Jodie Evans paid to attend a Los Angeles fundraiser for Barack Obama, hoping that she would have a chance to ask him some pointed questions about his plans for Iraq. As she was approaching for her turn to be photographed with the Senator, he recognized her.

Before she could even say a word in greeting, he offered, “Jodie, I promise I will end the war.”

Jodie asked if that were the case, why had he chosen such a sad, hawk-like group of Foreign Advisors. She even pulled out the list of advisors to show it to him and queried, “Who on this list has a new vision?”

He answered, “I will end the war in Iraq, I promise.”

Of course not. This is the age of Obama.
He loves agitation like this. It takes the focus off of his failure.
