Shivering their timbers

For many years, Americans indulged the global-warming fantasies of Al Gore and the loopy left because it didn't cost them anything (at least directly), it didn't materially affect their lifestyles, and it made some of them feel all warm, fuzzy and green.
Now warmists are in power in Washington and pushing cap-and-trade legislation that will raise energy costs for the average household, conservatively, by a few thousand dollars a year while increasing America's dependence on intermittent and unreliable energy sources but without meaningfully changing earth's climate.
Not surprisingly, Americans no longer are all that hot for global warming. Actual data show the planet has been cooling since 1998, and now a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found only 36 percent of respondents still believe the planet is warming and humans are responsible.
Imagine how opinions might shift if congressional Democrats were honest about the real cultural and financial costs of cap-and-trade for households and taxpayers.

Seniors are not getting any cost of living raises in Social Security for 1020 & 2011, yet the price of their power needs will skyrocket.
How can that not be part of the cost of living?

I got gas at a Marathon station last night. At each pump they had an add for a web site, which said something like, “go here to learn how cap and trade will cost each family $2900”.
Guess I know where I’ll be buying gas from now on.

The debate actually is over…and the idea that human emissions of carbon dioxide will cause any significant degree of global warming has been categorically refuted and falsified. The empirically-measured change in the amount of energy radiating away from the Earth as a function of changes in sea surface temperature totally falsifies the IPCC climate models--and more importantly, completely falsifies the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis—total, categorical falsification, not simply invalidation of the alleged "proof" based on computer climate models:
