A Massachusetts man was fired from a national retail corporation because of his traditional beliefs on same-sex marriage. Peter Vadala was formally dismissed from his job as second deputy manager of the Brookstone store at Bostons Logan Airport on August 12, 2009, after a supervisor reported him to Human Resources regarding an incident two days earlier.

Mustn’t make the mistake of applying “consistency” of rules/laws to the left...
When you understand their end goal is the destruction of Christianity, then it all makes sense. See tagline.
God needs to send this nation a message, Sodom and Gomorrah exists, here, unchallenged.
Thats right, no more Brookstone, and I will now block all of their emails. Slimeballs.
Looks like I won’t be shopping at Brookstone ever again.
“Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
I believe this is a foretelling of AIDS.
In 1996 I was fired from a small company because of a conflict with my flaming-gay boss. It seems he was uncomfortable with my "family-oriented" attitude. We could not travel together because we would spend hours together in the car and all he wanted to talk about was sex (this guy was a sex obsessed pervert) and I didn't want to. Since he was an owning partner in the firm there wasn't much to do about it.
...and they keep it to themselves, no parades, no tv, no loud proclamations, just STFU.
A few hours later Peter was notified by a Human Resources representative that he was suspended from work without pay, effective immediately. Two days later, on August 12, after some further interaction with the Human Resources department, he was formally notified that he was terminated from the company.
Isnt this special?
They’re one of my favorite on-line shops for gifts and gadgets. (rolling computer table, coin sorting machine, charging station for our cell phones last year) No more.
absolutely
keep it in the closet....where it belongs.
well, that was sexual harassment and sorry you were an uncompensated victim. But hopefully your life is better for having moved on, away from this hedonist (who probably has HIV/AIDS/Hep C by now)
I think he already is.
here we go, i know i am gonna get flamed for this one...company policy was very specific here, and this guy was stalked by a manager to get a reaction from him...yes, he was played politically, but the correct response when confronted on the issue would have been “ your personal business is your personal business, and i do not wish to hear about your personal life” and having said that, any further contact from the supervisor would be considered harassment, with her and the company liable in a lawsuit. this kid ( and he is a kid, with no way of knowing what was about to hit him ) broke company policy. his termination, although severe, is justified.
been preaching the doctrine of “why do you have to be so vocal about your sexual orientation” for twenty years. Apparently they aren’t listening. Maybe electronic signage for everyone would be a solution. In large flashing LED’s I’m a (fill in the blank).
“A female manager from another store was in the store and began talking to Peter about her upcoming marriage.”
Sounds like she set him up and unfortunately he took the bait. I’ve noticed that drug addicts, alcoholics and sexual deviants do this all the time. They will nudge conversations in a certain direction with people they don’t know in an attempt to find out if that person is “one of them”.
The correct response should have been “good luck”. Now, if this person had asked his opinion and he gave it and still got fired. A civil rights law suit might be in order.

Interesting angle. One wonders if the same outcome would have ensued had the response been that such “marriages” were incompatible with his Islamic beliefs?
If he is telling the whole story, then he has a case. She brought it up, repeatedly, then finally confronted him. If he simply said that his Christian beliefs didn't accept homosexual "marriage" and that was the end of his contribution, then he is in the right, even in Fagachussettes.
Once in a while around Christmas if I need one last gift idea.....
