This whole scenario was a WH plan. Take away the Rep to run the Army and back fill with a Dem - until Hoffman went rouge.
All opposition to the left is racist, hateful, ignorant, etc etc etc
Bush's fault.
I also saw how he called Christie in NJ a “bad candidate who ran a bad campaign”. I hope it will be interesting Wednesday to see him explain how a “bad candidate who ran a bad campaign” defeated a guy who outspent him almost 3:1 in a solid blue state with the active participation of “The 0ne”.
McCain...Newt....Romney...
Wonder if McHugh will be FIRED by Bammy if Hoffman wins??
Obama hosted a $30,000 per couple fundraiser for Owens in Manahattan about 10 - 12 days ago where he fully endorsed the Dem candidate. Also, the AP, at WH urging, wrote a piece two weeks ago saying that the true test of “Obama’s coattails” will be NY-23. The WH set themselves up on this one, and tomorrow night is going to be one gloomy evening at 1600, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, the NYT newsroom, the WashPo newsroom, etc..... Ha, ha!
I seem to remember some Republican party boss saying this seat was ‘lost’. I kinda wish Scuzzi was still in it so she and her Pub supporters could have a humilitating defeat. I think this whole episode (up till Hoffman stepped in) was a plan by the Obama gang to flip this seat and the only reason Scuzzi stepped out is that she was splitting the liberal/Dem vote.
While I agree with you, I think the war has been “on” for a while. This could be our first battle victory. And I sense the momentum is shifting.
This whole Scuzzy/Hoffman thing was the perfect storm to get it going.
Interesting question. My guess would be no. Then Conservatives could, with validity, call the whole thing political. Of course the NRCC and the GOP would not.
Hell’s bells, Reagan/Carter in 1980, and Reagan/Mondale in 1984, were both “too close to call”, according to the DriveBy, State Run, Lap Dog Stenographers. And Reagan won BOTH in landslides.
Same as with 2000 and 2004...close lead for Gore/Kerry? State called by network immediately. Close to wide lead for Bush? State “too close to call”, or called hours later.
If I am an enemy of the state, based on my participation as a conservative black, then the election of 2000 is the start of the cause of it.
So, Joe Biden’s on the way to NY-23 to campaign for Owens.
With Joe on your side, what could possibly go wrong?
Ordinarily, yes...however, they'll have reason to console themselves on Wednesday...as it is, calendar-wise, the one year anniversary of the greatest (recent) day of their lives...the day that the Obamanation was elected. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to wear black.
If Hoffman wins and Sarah Palin goes on to become POTUS in 2012 historians will look at district 23 as one of the worst political blunders in American history, a megalomaniacal POTUS who thought he saw an opportunity to gain one more seat in the House of Representatives by appointing its member to a job in his administration and for that one seat lost himself the Presidency because it became “a bridge too far”.
that looks to me like a blowout if that what happens tommorrow.
what a great message to send to both parties
And this morning Obama at -13 at Rasmussen
Politico was set up as a sort of rebellion against the Washington Journalistic Establishment, but has itself fallen back into an orbit within the Bos-Wash Bubble, out of touch with the rest of the world.
Sorry, it will be a very bad day for the WH tomorrow, and I can’t wait to listen to their lies and BS spin.
What cracks me us is how clueless the Politico and all the liberals are about inventing news like this. They obviously don’t realize that Republicans who might ‘buy’ it would be only more determined to help get the vote out for Hoffman? Dems will sit on their butts and think they’ll win.
Except for the ACORN/SEIU types who will be busy manufacturing bogus absentee ballot votes and doing whatever other type of fraud they can get away with. In New Jersey, with the big blocks of votes in the ghettos of Newark, Jersey City and Camden, they may well get away with it.
