Barack and Michelle Obama: Mr&Mrs show irks voters

As political woes mount, not all have been won over by the first couple’s intimate revelations

Tony Allen-Mills in Washington

With difficult state elections and a crucial military decision looming, President Barack Obama sat down with his wife Michelle last month to give an in-depth magazine interview about a subject that has hitherto not ranked highly on the White House political agenda — the state of the first couple’s marriage.

The president used the occasion to complain that when he recently hopped aboard Air Force One to fly his wife to New York for dinner and a Broadway show, “people made it into a political issue”.

Obama went on to insist that his marriage was “separate and apart from a lot of the silliness of Washington”. He then proceeded to discuss his romantic ups and downs in startling detail with a reporter from The New York Times Magazine.

“The sense that the Obamas are flirting with disaster by parading their happy family life was magnified by Michelle’s Marie Antoinette-like appearance this week on the cover of Glamour magazine — at a time when many Americans continue to lose their homes or jobs every month.”

That’s gonna leave a mark!

Michelle said the strains had been “sort of the eye-opener to me, that marriage is hard. Going into it, no-one ever tells you that. They just tell you, ‘Do you love him ... what’s the dress look like’?”

Ah yes, the verbal elegance and deep thinking of Michelle Obama.

It's pretty easy to see that being married to Michelle would be scary! She doesn't just look angry, she is angry.

She's looks like the kind of woman who could go to bed in a snit...and then, after reaching a boiling point, get up and bury a butcher knife in her husband's back in the middle of the night.

I believe if I woke in the morning with my arm around Michelle ,I would chew off my arm in order not to wake her, and give up drinking for life.

“separate and apart from a lot of the silliness of Washington”.

Breathless isn't it? To think he still can be seen as an outsider, when he's in the middle of all this silliness.

It's beyond belief.

Hard hitting reporting is only used against Republicans. Just a day ago, NYT was also hard-hitting on Ayn Rand: the poster woman of Tea Party Movement.

“Funny how every time there’s a crisis we end up reading about Michelle,” noted one Republican insider. “It’s great to see that the first couple have such a wonderful relationship,” added a Times website reader. “Now can the president please get down to solving the country’s problems?”

The NYT Obama-ganza article was linked by RCP yesterday. I got through about half a page out of ten.

I'm sure the Times' liberal readers gobble this stuff up, since it helps insulate their warm and fuzzy cocoons of unreality, while they pat themselves on the back for having put such a fab couple in the WH.

Those of us who are forced to deal with the real-world results of the last election have no time for fraudulent fiction.

It’s so tiring hearing more than we want to know about these Dems’ dysfunctional marriages. First the Klintoons, now the B.O.’s. M.O. is all too familiar with what it’s like being married to a narcissist. And B.O. has his comeuppance by being married to a woman who has played the minority card to the hilt but is STILL bitter, unpatriotic, and angry.

If the Obamas have such a wonderful marriage, why is it that Obama hardly ever saw them when he lived “alone” in a WDC apartment? He apparently only visited them infrequently. Then there was the rumor of a lady friend who was “shipped” to the islands upon his wife, daughters and mother-in-law moving to WDC. The kicker is that you never see any one of them hugging their long-sought-after dog. Poor thing.

Of course we complained, you arrogant turd...you wasted a ton of money—for nothing! You’re nothing more than a partying, live high off the hog on someone else’s nickle POS. A typical commie dung heap.
