Gingrich endorses Hoffman Posted: October 31st, 2009 01:04 PM ET
From CNN Political Editor Mark Preston
WASHINGTON (CNN) Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who came under fire from some conservatives for endorsing Dede Scozzafava in next week's special Congressional election in New York, is now backing Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.
Gingrich made the announcement via Twitter shortly after the Republican Party nominee Scozzafava announced she was releasing supporters from their commitment to back her.
"Scozzafava dropping out leaves hoffman as only anti-tax anti-pelosi vote in ny 23 Every voter opposed to tax increases support doug hoffman," Gingrich wrote on Twitter. (Tweet shown as it appeared)

Go sit on Pelosis lap. I would have defended Newt for that 2 weeks ago. Not anymore. He and I are through. Not only did he endorse the ACORN-gal, he went onto tell conservatives to stick-our-principles-up-our-nostrils. I'm no longer interested in him. He can keep making his little movies and writing books that aren't nearly as popular as other political titles. But he is no longer welcome in my little political world.

Id love to see Palin as President, but, so far, it appears she can do more good traveling around the country promoting conservatism. Be it far from me to try to convince you otherwise about Palin, so I'll just say this; people once thought the very same thing about Ronald Reagan.

Could you imagine if the head of the GOP was Palin? There'd be a steady stream of heads rolling out the door and down the front steps of GOP headquarters for the first month, if Sarah was in charge.
Month two, we'd see an entirely new Republican party.

Twitter is the best he could do? I asked the same question when I saw the headline. Twitter? Any man with a spine and some personal honor would have gotten in front of a mic or a camera and explained his error to the best of his ability.
Not only does switching his support to Hoffman after Scuzzy left the race make him look weak and unprincipled, communicating that via a medium like Twitter makes him look cowardly, as well.

Those of you who dont have any idea of the dynamics of the Conservative/Republican/Democrat/Liberal party structure in NY State need to just keep your thoughts to yourselves. No thanks, Mr. Know-it-all. We'll just keep right on talking, if you don't mind.

Newt is belatedly trying to catch the train after he had realized that he was being left behind with the rest of the anti-conservative anti-Palin RINOs.

He ran...I saw...I RINO'd.
Cheers!

Mercy.
I taped a Late Late show, Craig Ferguson from this week and Newt was on there, plugging for 2012 for presidency for the GOP. He was so boring, I slept through most of it.

Hoffman...
pledged to support the Republican nominee... And he probably would have if there was a Republican nominee. But for some odd reason the party didn't nominate one.
