"Today, I again seek to act for the good of our community,"
"It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my party will emerge stronger and our district and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations."
No time to get cocky. The fight has just begun.

An official with New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine’s re-election campaign was arrested last night after cops found found ecstasy tablets wrapped and ready to be sold in his car, police said.
Jason Shih, 25, was pulled over by East Rutherford cops at about 11:30 p.m. last night because he was talking on his cell phone on Route 17, said Lt. Chris Conforti of the East Rutherford police.
Officers wound up finding 19 “blue star” ecstasy tablets in Shihs car, each wrapped in its own little plastic bag.
Shih — who was stopped within 100 feet of Becton Regional High School — also had “several hundred” empty plastic bags in his car, Conforti said.
Shih was identified as a deputy assistant director of Corzine’s campaign. He was charged with possession of drugs, possession of drugs in a school zone, intent to distribute drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition, he was charged with two motor vehicle violations driving while using a cell phone and having drugs in his car.
Conforti said the criminal charges all carry jail time and heavy fines.
Shih, of Paramus, NJ, was released on $15,000 bail, Conforti said.
Corzine, a Democratic incumbent, is locked in a tight battle with Republican challenger Christopher Christie in the race for New Jersey governor that will be decided Tuesday.
I tip my hat to a politician doing the right thing.
Good on ya Dede!
Yes it is great news!!!! Woohoo!
Time to double down on support for Hoffman!!!
Newt - get on the wagon, get out front, admit how wrong you were, apologize, and endorse Hoffman.
(This is because these are still LOTS of people who like Newt - he is everywhere on Fox so he has followers and needs to “lead” them to vote for Hoffman!)

Hey, GOP, we're no longer saps...we've had enough of this RINO crap
Dede, it's November...we are a few days away
Here you are, having your butt handed to you
Dear, we've said screw you...no longer will we play
It's about time a tsunami came
We will shake up those who will not hear our voice
In a few days we'll be voting
Doug Hoffman's gonna be our choice
We've screamed for years MAKE THE RINOs GO
But the bigwigs kept on saying NO
Let's watch Hoffman kick her derriere
In all fairness, it's a target hard to miss
So, poor Dede, in November
She's crying -- put some ice on this
Hey, GOP, we're no longer saps...we've had enough of this RINO crap
Finally, this November...we will take the country back
It's the shot that will be heard 'round the world...with flags unfurled
We say farewell to hacks
It's about time a tsunami came
We will shake up those who will not hear our voice
In a few days we'll be voting
Doug Hoffman's gonna be our choice
The poor, poor bastard.
Here a third party candidate with conservative credentials doomed the Republican nominee because the conservatives simply were not going to throw in with a RINO when so much is at stake in our national debate.
To have allowed Scozzafava to be elected would have taken all the steam out of the TEA PARTY movement.
Well this should energize the TEA PARTY movement and hopefully get the GOP elite to begin reconsideration of whether or not they are going to continue to lend their support to the Snowes, Specters and Collinses of the party.
The message has been sent. The big question is whether the Republican Establishment can read?
Looks like I read wrong scuzzy is still scuzzy
Of even more interest is the fact that WABC TV had the story up on its websit earlier and then scrubbed it. See the threads listed in the sidebar under Breaking News for ...”the rest of the story.”
Mojave is deeply saddened.
Hey Newt, how do you look now? I use to be a fan of yours but I will never forget what you did. Go to hell you RINO POS.
I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so.
What a worm, if you were such a proud republican you would have said to vote for Doug.
Yet, I bet Newt will still support his decision. Ass.
Yeah. I was there when this all first started. Every time someone put a link up to ABC GoLocal, the story was gone. Finally the NY Post got it and it’s still there.
It just might be the wooden spike through Corzine’s black heart.
I bet Mojave is having kittens right about now.
Yeah mojave what an interest thread he posted.
I remember quite a few threads like that during the Bush, kerry (I was in Nam) election cycle. We can look forward to more of the loony-tunes in the near future.
My feelings about these guys, they are looking for a whole in which to divide us.
Lord help us.
You bet they can. Their conclusion will be to "teach them [us] a lesson," that "conservatives can't win" without RINOs calling the shots. They'll stab us in the back before they let us win.
The reason is simple: The GOP leadership knows that they'll be out of a job and the corporate donations will dry up if the party is populated with advocates of smaller government. With smaller government, they'll have no favors to sell.
The Democrats can't do anything without selling favors. This is where the media bias is perhaps most damaging in what they do not cover.
