He misread the race and decided to get out in frong and support 8 old out of touch county GOP chairmen and an out of touch NRCC instead of hundreds of thousands of grassroots conservative republicans.

Sure they did. My church is full of them. Sunday-churchgoing Catholics who think abortion is fine (because after all, THEY’RE not having abortions); guys that cheat on their wives, wives that cheat on their husbands...folks that have no problem with queers getting married.
They’re all there, every Sunday. I know a bunch of them personally.
And yes, they’re hypocrites. But I blame the pastors for NOT stepping up from their bullypulpit.
And if HALF the congregation gets up and walks out, that just removes the phonies and helps the cause.
But its a money thing...or a cowardice thing...or both.
Perfect conservative views
A perfect conservative is a FR expert on conservative issues. If you do not agree with his/her perfect conservative views, YOU are not a conservative and are called any number of names including but not limited to: a RINO, a liberal, a DEM, a Rat, and always my favorite a Troll.
BTW, Snowe is a RINO. Newt is NOT nor has ever been a RINO.

The MSM is the main reason that led to the rise of Obama, not Newt. The MSM still continues to mislead the public ... and STILL HALF THE PUBLIC BELIEVES THEM.
The time for the MSM to be discredited once and for all is long past ... and NO ALTERNATIVE MEDIA HAS NOT TAKEN OVER FOR THE MSM nor are they going to anytime soon.
I did not call him a RINO. His personal views may be doctrinaire conservative, but his actions are not principled. He is an academic and a rhetorician and an author but his was not a good leader, and is not a good spokesman or example to others of the Republican party or the conservative movement.
He kowtowed to Clinton, when you were too young to be politically aware. Not right away, but after the media/democrat complex savaged him for ‘shutting the government down’, Newt decided to go along to get along, and it wasn’t pretty.

I think Americans want a presidential candidate who clearly stands on one side of the fence or the other and their values are clearly known to all.
Newt does NOT meet this criteria.

Some time ago, I expressed my displeasure with Newt and his statements... beginning with stating that the era of Reagan was dead while pushing his Reagan DVD and other stuff that made me question whether he sold out or not.
I was flamed by many here.
Newt, I know you read Free Republic, so please back off, apologize and endorse Hoffman.

Me too. Maybe he does have another chance to rescind this endorsement. On a thread yesterday, I expressed that I have been dumbfounded by Newt's insistence (even calling her the "future of the GOP") on standing by this obviously liberal candidate (to the left of Owens). The only speculation that I've come up with is he's testing the resolve of the social conservatives and is floating a trial balloon of a potential watering down of the Republican platform regarding abortion and homosexuality (clearly there are many of the establishment GOPer's (Steele) who have floated this). It would explain some others who are also in this Scozzafava endorsement crowd.
Yeah right. I'm not Catholic myself but I do know of many "Sunday attenders" who do so merely because they think they're "scoring points" with God just by showing up at the pews. Many of these folks think that being a Catholic is some sort of birthright, and simply go through the motions every week because they believe they'll be struck dead by lightning if they don't.
I do believe that Kennedy was just such a Catholic.
In Newt's defense, since he CHOSE to become a Catholic, at least we know his moral positions (as far as I know) still fall in line with basic Catholic orthodoxy.
Come on Newt, you can do it. Man up.
