A Dallas mother wants to change an obscure Texas law that allows parents to show their young children hardcore pornography.
Crystal Buckner claims her ex-husband made their two little girls watch graphic sex videos, but Buckner says the law protects him from being prosecuted.

WTH? This guy is a sicko.
Why the hell does he have custody, anyways?
She married the man and had 2-kids with him and she didn’t know he was a bad man? Some things can’t be fixed.
This is an example of why divorce and porn are so destructive of our culture. It is not just your private business.
The guy is twisted but there is more to this story than anybody is telling. I want to know the “back story”!
Why indeed does he have custody?
It’s not uncommon for one parent to make up horror stories about their ex - especially when they’re fighting over custody. There’s no reason to jump to conclusions about either of these individuals since we don’t have all the facts.
well that is true.
This is disgusting, but I still do not want the government to tell me what I can or can not teach to my children.
Something isn't right. The story says that the father has custody, but the link in the story to the AG's opinion says the girls were visiting their father.
ok, but I think hardcore porn is a poor choice of teaching tool
That’s a good question for you and me but if porn is legal and okay for adults why is it bad for kids?
Is it established as fact that he did it?
Exactly, if you listened to my husbands ex wife she’d tell you lies about everything under the sun about us. She’s tried it all until the police don’t believe her anymore.
Besides, this is a huge slippary slope...once you pass a limitation, who gets to say what’s appropriate material.
There are already child abuse statutes that include exposing the children to sexually explicit acts/material here.
correct, in this case, if there is a law that ‘allows’ parents to show porn, we should remove that.
I think we have to have common sense and not think teaching pornography or the virgin birth of Christ to be equally protected by the constitution. If the government of Texas go after parents making their kids watch porn, we don’t make a fuss. If they go after parents teaching creation, we make a fuss.
Porn is legal for adults. But I would not agree that it is okay for adults. Alcohol is legal for adults but we have laws to prevent parents from giving their children alcohol.
That does not mean that I want people arrested for letting their children have a sip of wine from time to time. But I do not want it legal for parents to have keg parties for underage kids.
Porn is ideas not physical substances being put in the body. Limiting thought another matter no matter how repugnant it may be.
Thats outrgeous, only teachers have the right to show porn to kids.
For those of you not from TX or never having been divorced with kids in TX, let me clarify something odd about this story.
First of all, TX law caters to the mother. For the mother not to have custody, she either voluntarily gave up custody or was a really bad abusive/neglectful mother.
It took me almost 5 years to get custody of my boys from their abusive mother. She was even arrested and found guilty of child abuse, but as one attorney told me, in TX the courts believe the mother should have the kids no matter what, even if she is a prostitute or a drug dealer. I even know of a case in which a mother took a 2-yr old child with her to turn tricks and the dad, who was very clean-cut, still could not get custody.
Also, according to national research, some sort of sexual abuse is the most common accusation a mother makes against a father in order to gain custody. Parental alienation is the second most common accusation.
There is certainly more to this story than the mother is letting on. She lost custody for a very good reason.
Not showing kids porn is “limiting thought”?? You spend too much time googling lolita sites dude.
